Hi OF! I recently purchased this watch, a vintage 1966 Longines SportChief. As what I found online, this model seems to be legit, as one of the calibers they came with were longines cal 280. I would love to find new information that I'm sure you guys can provide!

Have a nice day OF!

Fellow 280 says hello, this one in a French "P(G)F" 18ct case. Smooth winding and accurate, great for daily wear. Do you (plan to) wear yours daily?

I don't wear mine daily because I have plenty of them! But it's always great to peek on my on my wrist and see this beauty! Btw, your's it's really beautiful! Do you feel that your gold case is more "fragile"?

Not at all. The crystal occupies most of the surface so there's little chance of scratches on the case itself. And the French-made 18ct case feels very sturdy, not one of these paper-thin cases that bend if you overtighten the strap. It's actually heavier than a Swiss-cased Longines. It seems that they didn't skimp on the gold back then.
