    Hi all

Found this Longines that I quite like. It is a cal 12.68Z with serial 10887524 which is said to be from 1956. I think it looks all good, but a bit wondering on the dial. There is no Swiss Made printed on it, but have seen a number of others as well without it. Did Longines produce watches without Swiss Made on the dial or are they re-dials??

Any other comments on the watch?

    Cheers! 305825787_0acac741-79e3-4f2d-8770-9fc45609ee2c.jpg 305825787_0fa56a8f-0c1c-4cb8-b715-13c7d2dff4c3.jpg 305825787_1357865c-f2fd-4d4a-8782-73f738999332.jpg 305825787_3156a940-31ff-4fc4-b619-574e052a69ef.jpg 305825787_98935948-bc5f-4ca9-b187-5fee533dde43.jpg

    Hello,original dial,and nice dial combination...
Swiss Made absence, doesn't mean that the dial isn't original.!

Yes it looks very attractive actually. Was just a bit concerned on the Swiss Made, but good to get some confirmation that they did dials without as well.

I don't know, I have some concerns about the dial frankly. The LONGINES looks too close to the applied logo, the entire outer circumference of the dial looks washed, and the lume dots are suspiciously uniform. Before buying, I'd want to take a very close look.

The lighting also seems to be trying to hide the edges of the case from view, but I suspect it is modestly polished. Still, getting a better look at the dial would be my first priority.

Hmmm... actually you are right... the LONGINES does sit very close to the applied logo. VERY good eyes! Not sure if it means something, but for sure it looks different from others I find. Really like the watch so will try to get better pics .

dial design is not to my liking but to each of his own, but importantly I think it's original. And very nice aged lume too! I have a similar piece.

Actually managed to get some more pictures from the seller. It Longines and the logo does sit quite close, but I am still thinking it is genuine. What do you think?

Totally agree, dial looks repainted to me.
LONGINES too close to logo, and the font itself seems dubious...

    Me too.
The subdial is perfect; in case of reprint it would be flatten

Many different views on the dial for sure Just proves how hard it is to know from time to time even if you are really good at watches

My initial instinct would also be original, and if it's a redial it seems outstanding.
But to be absolutely sure you might still want higher resolution frontal pictures of the subdial, and pictures showing more clearly the edges of the central dial part, which are a bit blurry on those pictures, and the sides of those raised or applied indexes.
Also does the seller accept returns?
In the end the ultimate test is direct visual examination.

Swiss made is not always present on early 1950s pieces and appears in the 1950s.

I think I am just going to go with it being original. If it does not become too expensive I might gamble a bit as the seller cannot get me better pics anyway. We are not talking USD 50 000 anyway so...

If I buy I will drop in good pics for final verdict with you guys

Original. I think the reason the Longines font looks so close to the hourglass logo is due to the angle.
