Incoming!!! Got the call from my AD for the Polar Explorer II that I have been dreaming of! I'm couldn't be more excited to add the first Rolex to my collection!

Yesterday I was second on the list, but the person who was first missed his pickup window. I made it in record time after receiving the call!

Lucky you, congratulations! How long did you wait?

It actually wasn't too long, I think about 4 months. But it was with an AD that I had never done business with so I was expecting longer. They mentioned that they were "catching up" on some lists, although the BLRO list is still forever long.

I think my adrenal glands were juicing up just reading the party where the first guy missed his window and it was your turn!

Congrats on the acquisition!

Haha, it was quite the Rollercoaster weekend. He had until 6pm on Saturday to call and reserve which he barely made then he had til 6pm today to pickup which he missed. They tried to get him to put a deposit down which would have held it for 30 days but he declined. Lucky me.

The funny part is that he called right as I was getting it sized to see if he was too late. Yes sir you are! Poor guy.

Interesting! I just never knew you had 24 hours to buy when you get the call if you hadn't made a deposit.

This is valuable to know!

I think it's different AD to AD, so make sure you ask down questions. But my saleswoman said they were very clear with him about it, and they knew I was 15 minutes away with AMEX in hand haha.

I had to make a few sacrifices to diversify my Rolex collection and acquire the new Pepsi GMT 126710.

I had the 16570 about 12 years ago and have missed it every since I sold it, so I know what you mean.

That being said, it's all worth it to get the Pepsi right? My AD told me today that this purchase "moved me up many lists" but the Pepsi list is still CRAZY long.

Yeah, but I'd rather have them all than to lose one for another if I can help it. What do you think? If you're on the long list and get called, would you sell the Exp II to help pay for the next one?

"Having them all" is the motto with which I've tried to live my life. So yes, I completely agree. My #1 right now is the Batman so I would have a tough choice if I needed to sell something for it. But honestly no. I have my perfect collection in mind and I'd pass a BLNR right now if I would have to sell one of the others.

Thank you! I am big fan of the various GMT's as well, but having a white face in the collection is great.

Yes! I currently have a GMT II 116710LN, love the all-black but I'm not a fan of the green 24 hour hand as it renders itself essentially invisible (that and the small triangle tip that is also difficult to quickly refer to). The Exp2 on the other hand with the bold orange screams "GMT" !

Ahhh yes, now I see what you mean. The orange accents and especially the larger orange hand is one of my favorite parts for sure.

During summer holidays I had the opportunity to read the Rolex Magazine No. 8.
That was the special edition featuring Explorer I and II.

Really worth reading with great photos and texts.

The issue is sold out, but there are always copies on the second hand market.

That was the special edition featuring Explorer I and II.

Really worth reading with great photos and texts.

The issue is sold out, but there are always copies on the second hand market.

I was able to grab one from one of the AD's that I have purchased from. That issue definitely helped me pass the time while I waited for the watch to come in.
