    Lovely spot, and brings back all kinds of good memories from last year (Mrs. Toast's 60th).

    There was a guy selling palm-frond basketry in the parking slot at the arrow tip. We shepherded home one of his bowls with a grasshopper decoration as our lavish souvenir. Interesting guy to speak with - seems he was away from his post on the day of your helicopter ride!

    I remember we parked on the side of the road and took a walk to get some pictures after the helicopter ride. Don’t think he was there. Would Love to go back again :). Very relaxed life style

    Agree totally, the lushness of the Hilo side and if it's raining we would just drive over to the Kona side.
    And Mauna Kea !!!! you can drive from above the clouds in the snow east to the jungle or west to the desert.

    Daughters are spending the weekend in the motorhome, parked next to the house but it means the love of my life have a couple of days on our own :D

    Did anyone get a better pic of the Thunderbirds flyover today in So Cal?

    I know there are a bunch online, but I think we have some great photographers on here too and it's always fun to see some from ppl we know!
