Stealing the title from Alpha…

I count two gestures today so far…

Following a few very pleasant transactions with @gbesq and a meeting at the Detroit GTG. This arrived in the mail today.

Thank you! First coffee (black) in the company of my Seamaster…

Second gesture. Soon after I bought a Baltic, I received a customer survey. I praised the watch but mentioned that the buckle did not fit well with the factory strap.

They replied almost immediately and advised that they were sending me a new and improved buckle, free of charge. It arrived from France in four days. Plus, they included a suede travel pouch. Thank you Baltic and also thanks to several members of this Forum who introduced me to Baltic. Notably @Larry S @Spruce and the (or one of the) very first photos of a bronze Baltic on OF courtesy of @dougiedude So… forget about the jerk who cut you off today and cherish the nice gestures.

Steve, I’ve two issues and this is pretty typical. Not only are the watches great but the customer experience is superb. Its as if France is the next state over.

A fellow came into my leather shop yesterday and was bearing gifts.

He came in a few weeks ago and was wearing a Breitling. I had a 2023 Breitling catalogue and gave it to him at the time.

What he brought me yesterday, because he noticed I was wearing Omega a few weeks back. I still was…

He also brought an old clamshell box for his wife’s Omega. The button activates the lid. So small.

So it was a good day in the shop.

Canada is not a state, nor will it become one. Alberta (on the other hand) is seriously considering separation. We are fighting two governments! The one in Washington, and the other in Ottawa!

Not watch related, but this story warms my heart. John Janke has been a substitute teacher in my home town for 35 years. He has cerebral palsy and was never able to get a tenured teaching position, but he worked full time as a substitute for low pay and no retirement plan. I was his student when I was in middle school and high school and I always admired him. Our community and all of his past students are getting together to give him the retirement he deserves.

Here is Mr. Janke

The local news did a nice story on the project:
