This is 14060 I bought earlier this year, Y serie 2 line luminova, flat 4 bezel complete with papers under 4850eur, it was local deal. Dealers sell horrible examples for way lot atm, be patient and try to score private deal. This 14060 was polished but the lugs have as far as I know original finish, the holes were pretty sharp and bracelet was super stiff, clasp would stay open, the watch was hardly worn probably just polished lightly before sale. I think bottom left lug had chamfer redone, but then again could come from factory like that as it was done as far as I know by hand.

I must admit that looks really nice even with the luminova. But I will get back to the drawing board and think it over... damn subs...

I think 2 line is absolute stunner and you will do good if you go for one, just make sure sure it's a good example. Trust me if you handle a 14060 in unpolished / near unpolished state, you would feel sorry for paying a lot for bad example. The lugs brushed finish should shine, if done by someone not knowledgeable it will be dull like Seiko. I burnt myself in past, so I hope I am not too forward and would love to prevent anyone make mistakes I have made.

Mine is the 14060M 4 liner. I actually love the 4 line and the Modified movement with the added robustness is something that I like. Also it’s trully the last of It’s line.

Technically you can have 2 line with newer movement, that's why it is called the 14060m from erhh 2000~+, the 2008+ are just COSC cerified but they are indentical and today they should have all been serviced so they will run as good.

Well, if anyone sees a good (un)polished tritium or luminova two liner dial, just let me know! I would appreciate it! I will keep looking and if I find something I will post it here before buying it! Thanks!

Hmmm... case condition and lumi hands are a deal breaker especially at that price. Plenty 14060s out there to choose from. Look harder and be patient.

14060 2 lines subs are not too hard to find. Take your time and enjoy the hunt. If you like vintage, you may want to consider 5513 as well.

I have to wonder..Rolex made millions of these watches. The tritium ones are a tad harder to find, granted, and they are definitely not vintage, so why does it seem like they are “rare”?

Greedy dealers will give you this illusion but a good WTB ad in various forums should do the trick. Don’t fall for the “rare” or “vintage” BS with this reference.

Well, they were the most common Sub but at same time majority was polished pretty poorly, I think it's not that easy to find a good example without paying big premium.

Big premium? Be my guest...what’s so special about a reference that was made in huge numbers?

I was referring to the 14060. And the 5513 has been out of production for almost 35 years...the 14060?

I was wondering the same. They were made in millions. Did they all had blind watchmakers who polished the hell out of those subs? If not rare, where is a honest tritium 14060 without issues? I've looked for months. Ebay, chrono, watchrecon, local ebayish sites...

Hang on for a better one for that price imo. You would probably get a better one from a private seller. Good luck!

I am not advocating that the price is right, I am merely reflecting what I see dealers do. There are still good private deals to be had as I have showed above.

They were like 4k to 5k usd one year ago.... what was your budget? Did you consider a 5513 wg dial? You can try hunt one down from hq milton or some other big dealers. I would not go ebay route, it's a dangerous game for sub.
I got my 87 5513 from hq milton for 5k... 2 years ago...unpolished ..
