Just noticing the Pepsi bezel is no longer on the Rolex website - did they stop it?

Hah could you imagine the hype if they did?
But it appears they did not...

Geez, thanks - made me dig a bit further, and they have that a good bit buried don’t they?

Sorry for the thread drift, but to try and keep it sort of on topic: can a person with the blue/black bezel procure the Pepsi bezel and swap?

Why, of course.

The Rolex. But not just because it's a Rolex. The GMT Master II is the quintessential true GMT watch, and that might be my favorite complication.

Except you'll have an obvious FrankenRolex since the GMT hand will be blue instead of red. Can only recommend don't do that....

I'd probably get the Rolex on Oyster over the 321 Ed White. The GMT is a more useful complication for me and is my favorite Rolex over any other. If we're talking a basic Sub date over EW321 then it's 321 all the way.

Which one of these watches would you pick you had the opportunity?

Coming back to the original post - assuming we’re asking about the present models at MSRP (the GMT at US$10,750 , the NEW321 at US$14,100), and further assuming we ignore any brand-fanboy bias:

Despite the higher MSRP, I’d choose the NEW321, because (top 3 reasons):

the NEW321 is a truly rare piece, numbering in the 2000-ish examples, with a likely ceiling on production in the nearish-future; whereas the this modern GMT in this or it’s cousin iterations (different bezel colors) number possibly in the millions, and future iterations absolutely certain. Get a NEW321 while you can.

the NEW321 is, in its subtleties, I think the best looking of any modern watch near this price point that presents a vintage/classic sensibility and aesthetic; the GMT is a nice watch, especially on the jubilee (thank goodness they brought that back), but thoroughly modern in its presentation and sensibility

all else equal, I prefer a “IYKYK” watch, rather than a “every investment banker on Wall Street knows from across the room” watch

Though, obviously, the best answer is “both, please”

For the sake of my sanity, I genuinely hope every last soul who views my eBay posting realizes just how much it drips with sarcasm and derision.

😵‍💫

So then, the actual strategy here is: take the BLNR if offered, then look to trade+cash for a BLRO

Honestly, being a HUGE GMT fan, the 126710 Pepsi doesn't do it for me, I much prefer the Batman given the choice. As for the 321 vs. 126710, completely different watches, very hard to compare / contrast. One is a classic / retro re-edition, which I love, the other is a multi-purpose sports watch that can be worn for any occasion. If budget is no constraint, I'd choose the 321 over the GMT.

I'd go with the Rolex GMT at MSRP. The Speedmaster 'flies under the radar', I like getting picked up by the radar. 👍

Ed White for me, just prefer the look of the watch over the Rolex, but I reckon I have more chance of getting the Pepsi than the Ed White without going grey.

I have a 16710 Coke. Would go for the 321 over the new Pepsi because I find the Pepsi unexciting.

The GMT Master II . Hands down. I have a Speedmaster (not an Ed White) but a 345.0808, sapphire back, from 1990), that I rarely wear.

I say be happy with your current GMT and Speedmaster and start collecting something that’s really challenging, with limited parts availability, and only owned by the most discriminating and dedicated watch lovers: the entire vintage Bulova 666 line….that’s right-
SNORKEL!!

321. I find the Rolex Pepsi a bit garish.
