First post here, hoping for help in identifying a 14k model I’m considering. Seller has not been able to open it, I’ve seen no case back or movement 😟

It could be a good buy, or a money pit.
Without a movement photo I'd avoid it.
The crystal is ready to implode at any second if touched even gently.

I'd pass, depending on the asking price of course.

I'm not able to pin down the reference but maybe some of our other vintage experts can.
Looks to have a hallmark on the top right lug, so may be a decent solid gold case.

Weight all included, strap and all, is 42g according to seller.
Useless measurement. No way to know how much of that is case.

But a nice looking watch.

14k could well be nationally cased. It's hard to guess the reference (or if there is a reference) without photos of the inside. Photos look professional, so you might proceed with some skepticism about the seller's inability to open it.

It's a nice looking watch. Sometimes you just have to go with your gut and make an offer that you're comfortable with. By the time a seller opens a watch and learns more about it, the price may go up.

Exactly what I was thinking. I’d be suspicious of someone taking professional looking photos whilst claiming they can’t open the case. I’d say the only exception to that is some of the unishell or cosmic cases, which doesn’t seem to be the case here.

Curious, but looks like it’s missing a bezel. Hard to say

Optical illusion? I think it's due to the high shouders on the lugs. I can see a nice bezel shape on top of the mid case.

The case looks complete to me, I have just not quite found this case shape and lugs anywhere. The seller is professional, but not specialized in watches. Bought from said seller before, and always received complete and genuine barn finds straight from “civilian” owners, estates etc.

Might try my hand at the lottery 😀

No, the seller is norwegian, its a norwegian action house to be exact.
Im actually the highest bidder at the moment😁

Can be a custom case and that is the reason why the seller doesn't want to open the case back.

To clarify,
The seller has no expertise/interest in anything other than selling estates/consignments and rarely does any research on the watches that are posted. A couple of weeks ago they posted a untouched Certina DS "Red Cross" with original link and assessed the value at around 50USD. Of course, it was auctioned for significantly more, but still 😁

For anyone interested in what this case was all about, I've seen the watch opened up 😀 The 332 movement dates the watch to 1950, and the caseback bears all the right Omega stamps, including the Poinçon de Maître No. 5: Key of Geneva, number 23, indicating Geneva casemakers Eggly & Cie (https://www.classicwatch.com/discus/messages/24/45076.html?1282763126) who also made cases for Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet (https://goldammer.me/blogs/articles/guide-watch-case-maker-geneva-key).

This also led me to another 1950 bumper with the same case: https://www.watchprosite.com/omega/help-for-omega-jumbo-bumper/677.1018368.7203418/

So at least it's not a one off, but neither of the watches has a reference.
