I have to say I cannot believe you actually got it back, congratulations! Best outcome I’ve ever seen. Hopefully it gets prosecuted and not just ignored as “petty theft” as too many cases are nowadays.

Hi All,

I am another one who got back his watch after being scammed by this guy.

Thanks to the perseverance and efforts of @guaranteed.rohu , and also thanks to @gop76, who alertedme about this thread, I was able to recover the watch.

I was shamed of myself, and honestly I had give up to this situation, but due to this comunity and the efforts of @guaranteed.rohu I was able to recover the watch.

The package was stucked with customs for two weeks, but it was finally delivered.

I am honestly sorry, for not have shared this scam, which if I have done it, I could have prevent others from being scammed, but I was shammed of myself and did not react properly.

I am, and I will contibute with any authorities or media (who already have contacted me) about this scam in order to stop this guy, and also to prevent these type of situations to happen in the future, in order to get this comunity safer for all of us who loves watches.

Thanks

Well done guys! A great result for you all and just goes to show that perserverence pays 😀

I hope the thieving 🤬 has learnt a lesson here and fortunately even if no prosecution ever comes he has at least been immortalised by OF and Google 😁

it is a usual reaction that if any one of us was scammed, we just kept the scandal and humiliation to ourselves and relied on hope that someday something will turn out positive against all odds. but this thread really made the difference. the fight against any potential scammer should continue with the help of this special forum. Congrats to you guys.

Amazing to hear that some of you are receiving your watches! I really do hope you all still peruse charges and push the local authorities to do something. Simply returning stolen goods shouldn't be met with a slap on the wrist. He needs to be standing in front of a judge.

Great result to see 3 watches returned. Would never have picked that in the beginning.

The prick was a busy boy scamming everyone.

Congratulations everyone. But for my understanding. Is the islandic police or the DA on the case?

I hope this will act as a huge deterrent for future wanna be scammers. The internet is a wonderful place, and it leaves a ton of trail marks for them to get caught! I am still amazed about the success of this one, and absolutely stoked that 3 watches made their way back, and what looks like in descent condition too.

Fantastic news all round, that was a serious business venture he/they had going there.

I still think it'd be worth a call or visit to your nearest .IS consulate. A big part of their job is keeping up foreign relations and advocating for individuals. If everyone scammed by this guy started complaining to consuls it would get their attention.

Just read this whole thread. Like reading a true crime novel. Great work @guarenteed.rohu for all his efforts. You and I are of the same thinking. I would go after anyone who scammed me. Sometimes if you hit back harder they cave especially when the police or threat of it is involved. BTW, since he was in Iceland, couldn’t you have just called someone there. It’s like 100 people there and they all know each other.

Thanks for the support. Turns out Magnus Sigurdsson is a very common name in Iceland, which I think is what the scammer was hiding behind, while using his actual name to pay and buy/sell.

BTW, since he was in Iceland, couldn’t you have just called someone there. It’s like only 360,390 people there all named Magnus Sigurdsson .
