Hopefully this works out. If this dude did drag some innocent party into this somehow it shows he is even more of a scumbag than originally thought. The whole thing is hard to make heads or tails of but this dude has been scamming for a while so he is good at it. The way he was careful not to show the watch while packing it, I mean that was the whole point right, is not a good sign. He is asking for time for a reason whatever it may be. I hope everyone is made whole in the end. Unfortunately after this people will probably hesitant to do business with anyone in Iceland they don’t know personally or is not a legitimate business. It’s hard to live a completely honest life but it’s relatively easy not to steal or take advantage of your fellow humans. I would take no joy if I looked at my watch box and saw beautiful watches I stole from someone. I would think this guy turns those watches into cash as soon as he gets him but hopefully that is not the case with this IWC. This thread is like a John Grisham novel.

^^ good post. I think the scammer is trying to buy time. And I think he may have pulled an innocent person into it, and is now getting a lot of heat from them. I doubt either of the two real watches will show up. I personally would not call off the police/ officials. If the watches do happen to show up the person still needs to face the consequences. And if they do not show up (and I do not think they will), this person should face criminal prosecution plus get the living crap beat out of them by the person they dragged into this by using their name (unless that is total BS as well).

It's more than just 2 watches, correct? I followed several other threads from other sites discussing this. Wonder if the perp is making "restitution" with all the victims.
Value reaching $10K+?
Over $2K here is a felony.
Curious to hear back from the Iceland Police since it has been assigned.

I'm pretty sure scammers would feel the opposite.

No doubt, you are right and that is sad.

There appears to be at least 10 or so victims. Some are small on RWI forum and Replica Watch forums. Some are pretty large (BB58, new Omega Railmaster, thousands of dollars for a Rolex, etc.)

Also another member of OF just PM'd me.

Other Scams and victims (4 total on WUS Forums):

I can't wait to hear the outcome of this situation. As others have said, even if you get the watch(s) back, move forward with charges or at the very least extreme public shaming.

Delay, delay and then delay is a classic sign of exposed grifters, time to close accounts, change identities and skedaddle in more ways than one, covering tracks.

Or have I read too many Jim Thompson novels?

Someone's come forward to moderators on another forum, claiming to be Magnus SIgurdsson's son. Only made an account recently.

Stefan claims Magnus is his nephew, so it doesn't really add up (ages). Looks like the lies are just rolling on.

Absolutely the one who helped tear it all down was @Taddyangle !

Ha, I'm glad we could connect and compare notes. I'm also happy to hear you followed through on this matter. I'm sure it was very time consuming and hope you string this guy up.

Great detective work! I'll be following along to see what comes when the package arrives. @guaranteed.rohu you should film the unboxing and we can guess whether it'll be the IWC, another redialed cheapo watch, or nothing at all!

(I hope its door number 1 for you)

Pretty sure he’s not hiding there... he’s lurking in Richard Scarry’s “Busiest People”

That ram in the back of the bus looks all wrong. I think he should be sitting taller too.

Is that the only thing on that image that looks anatomically incorrect to you ? Asking out of interest... and concern 😁

I would suggest you do this in the local police station, having confirmed with the attending officer that the box hasn't been tampered with prior to opening

I strongly agree with this. But I would also video the acceptance of the package.
