Hello Everyone,

I am the guy that got scammed with the Railmaster.

The OP (Robin) and I have been communicating and sharing details. Looks like the scammer is sending me back my watch. He provided a tracking number this morning.

I had involved the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the Icelandic Police.

I will keep you all posted!

Even if he returns all the watches, he should still be investigated by the police. You can’t rob a bank and just return the money when the police start questioning you and say “my bad” and walk away.

I wholeheartedly agree! That said, right now, all I want is my watch back....

Seconding contacting media about it - I think the author of this article would be very interested.
https://lexic.co/deepdweller/exposing-ginaults-illegal-past-tsung-chi-and-thomas-caddell
This guy also did another exposé about another guy before. His contact details are at the bottom of the article

while his data is good, I still think he jumped to a few conclusions about 2 other people and made some claims that he doesn’t have data on.

i have been contacted by a reporter already and I also used to write for InSync Magazine.

When all the dust settles, I will evaluate what I will do.

For now, like I said, all I want is my watch back.....

I binge-read all this thread now and I'm impressed by @guaranteed.rohu 's investigation.
I really wish you guys to get back your watches. I cross my fingers for you!

Kudos to you guaranteed.rohu for all the investigations you’ve carried out and the time you’ve put into them. I really hope that you and everybody else get their watches back. Nevertheless I hope that Stefan Stefansson or whatever his name is will be punished with the full force of the law. Even if he sends all the watches back he illegally obtained, he is still a fraud. Don’t know if a civil lawsuit would make sense if he keeps messing around, and sends you just junk or an empty package. But most likely it is just burned money...

I’m no lawyer but surely this is a criminal matter rather than a civil matter.

Its a scam, which is fraud so yes criminal as far I am concerned. If those affected by the scam can continue to fight for justice (even if they get their property back) then maybe there will be one less scumbag out there trying to fleece money or property out of people.

Just my 10 cents of opinion.

I am probably talking out of my butt, but in the U.S. this sort of thing would also fall under Mail Fraud which makes it a federal crime. So I'm assuming there's something like that for international as well. Definitely not a civil suit at that point, but could also be raised as one to get back damages, etc.

Sure it is a criminal matter. But if you want compensation with damages I think that you have to proceed through civil court...

That really depends on the national (icelandic) law. For example, you can take part in the criminal proceedings in the Netherlands as a claimant and request compensation without starting a civil case.

My take would be .... if I get my watch back ... then let the criminal matter go forward ...... I would not need any additional compensation ....

if I don’t get my watch back , but I would find the incarceration a form of compensation if he does time ....etc........

In any case this should be published for the public.

good hunting
