I think I bought a re-dial Seamaster 30 :(

Lately I've been in a bad place, moving to a new house, I don't get enough sleep, things are not going well, I see now that I was in no shape to buy watches, I bought like 6-7 vintage Omega's, none of them are the ones I want to collect

I got this Seamaster 30 for more than $350 - quite a high price if you ask me, I honestly liked the unique font, bought to wear it, and my sleep deprived state didn't even consider it could be a re-dial

Can anyone confirm it's a re-dial and opinions on the watch?

There's only a "SWISS" marking, I guess that confirms it for me - I hang onto a slim hope that it's a unique model, because every Seamaster 30 I see online has a distinguishing characteristic, however, none of them has this "Seamaster" typographic style

Redial, yes, wear and enjoy, the rest of it looks to be in nice shape.

Agreed. “S” is off and the “r” is exaggerated. Not an expensive mistake, though. Not collectible, but fine for daily wear.

Thanks everyone, indeed if the watch is a well preserved original, I can't get myself to wear it even once, it feels like a museum piece, a historic artifact

With this watch I guess I can wear it without worries 😀

Things did get better but the watch was a shocking realisation, It dawned when I was showing the photos to my brother

Christmas is coming soon... Maybe a gift for a loved one who doesn't know anything about watches 😀)

As "mistakes" go this is not a big one. Wear the watch in good health, and I hope things improve.

Thank you ❤️

Haha, that would be an easy way out
But, the way I operate, I'd disclose the re-dial even if it was a gift, it might be awkward 😁 | It also registers as an issue in my brain, so if I keep seeing the watch, it would keep on bothering me (if it bothers me when I actually see it)

I guess if it keeps bothering me, I could sell it for $250 or something if it doesn't have any other issue, it's a lesson worth $100

Sometimes tho, watches in real life looks a lot better, they are much smaller, so it might just not register as a major issue

If they know nothing about vintage watches they probably aren't too keen on getting a used watch as a gift.

A watch is a watch... It all depends on the sales (as a gift) pitch... It says Omega, that would suffice for some people to put it on Instagram

A redial it might be, but certainly not among the worst ones we get to see - with the price you paid I wouldn’t worry too much. If it runs ok I’m sure you wouldn’t have an issue to sell it for the money you spent on it - even if you’re honest and disclose it as a redial. 😀
