86547xxx. Would you mind mentioning what looks off? Just curious, and terrified!

He valve placement, lume dot on bezel, orange on Chrono second hand. Again all of these could be angle/quality on the picture. Personally I’d not buy and 2nd gen PO without a serial number check.

I’ve checked all of those with a new PO at a boutique. How would I check the serial number. I looked on Omega’s website with no luck...

This thread needs a wrist shot. Only you can decide what to do, if it was mine as others have said I'd wear the hell out of it with no worries. Maybe at some point you'll get to try on an SMP and decide from there which you prefer.

Congratulations.

There are a few people here with access to the serial number DB. I’m sure it’s fine. Just that model and that price requires a little extra checking in my mind.

When considering whether to keep it or not you need to take the service cost into consideration. Coaxial movements can be quite expensive to service. I'd take it into a watchmaker and ask if he could check the amplitude on his timegrapher.

I believe all but the very first of these are still under warranty, and inside first service period.

I’m not too worried about the service costs, I knew about these coming in...

It's a great watch and looks very nice on your wrist. I'd keep it if I were you. At least for a while to see how much you like it. It's not like it's going to depreciate much in value.

Looks great! Nice find! Wear it for three months then reevaluate the joy/cash ratio.

I’d only keep a watch that I truly want. If you don’t really like it, then sell it as that allows you to jump on the next opportunity when it arises.

I'd keep it. Has a story and you like it so why not.

Big thumb up for the great catch!

a small piece of advice: trust your gut feelings.
Watches are something irrational, there are no rules, just you and your feelings.

If you feel to sell it to get some margin, do it.
Do you like a SMP? get one 😀
etc etc etc.

Who is writing this is somebody who wanted to buy a DJ (and saved a lot for it), and in a moment of irrationality bought a SMP ceramic black. And I am extremely happy with it. Just trust your instinct, there are no rules when it comes to watches, and luxury in general!

Hope it helps 😀

Keep it. You'll never have the chance to own something like that for the price you paid for it.

Looks perfectly pucker to me. I have the same one. At that price, you've got $2k profit in the bank guaranteed should you ever need the cash.. 👍

So here’s a bit of an update. Before I had posted this question, I gave some details to crown and caliber because I was curious about what they would pay. They offered me 2300 yesterday. Of course, I was really tempted to double my money right there. But after a bit more thought, i’m not sure I’d be able to buy a watch this nice for that money. Also, I know I would regret selling it because I really do like the way this watch looks on my wrist. So I think I am keeping it. Thanks again for all of your thoughts... And happy thanksgiving!!
