Could it be the high end leather strap driving up the bids?

36mm case, not jumbo but a decent size and the uncommon dial, as Tony noted, nice blued hands as well.

BTW Kreisler is not a high-end strap maker.

No, it's the rare dial variation.

Ah, I see. I'm familiar with this seller and he on occasion has sold redialed watches as original. I didn't realize it was original and genuine.

BTW Kreisler is not a high-end strap maker.

The seller wrote that, I just thought it was funny.

Very nice watch. @Tire-comedon were you in on this action?

IMO the value is in the dial only

corrosion to the case,
work done to the inner case back to alter the curvature
heavy monogram
wrong crown
movement in rather poor condition

but the dial is very nice

The original buy it now on that before there were any bids was $600🤦 I passed on it then thinking the condition otherwise would keep bidders away, I have a much better 2504 with a meh condition dial and I was going to swap out the dials if I had won... can’t get lucky every time I suppose

Isn't this dial too early for a CK 2504-4? I've never seen any CK 250X with an early-mid 1940s dial. I have a CK 2504-4 from 1949 (confirmed by Extract) with silvered dial and alternating mirror/applied arrow indexes, which is typical of the style at that time.
