My wife wanted a stand for a piece of art she own. A crushed bathtub (do not ask). I suggested a similar size wood cube and she agreed. It took me two years to find the right piece of wood. If you want to make a 35*35*35 cm cube it has to be a substantial tree...

In the end it was an old oak nearby that delivered.

The oak cube and the bathtub weighs in at 65 kg together!

Getting out of the suspenders and the bra - I had to clean up thoroughly...

I am popular right now.

Doesn't seem you're a member of LU (Lumberjackers United) looking at your wardrobe.😜

I think that artwork actually looks cool. Nice job with the chainsaw we call that “ripping”. I don’t know if that’s a universal technical thing or just something we came up with. Any chainsaw work is cool in my book.

Come on, how can you post a thread with this title and not post this too?

Thank you, that was like an itch that had to be scratched.

Is that made from recyclable material?
Clearly eco-friendly, sustainable, cruelty and conflict free. Farm to table with local sources, no BPA, gluten, soy, or dairy. No live bathroom fixtures were harmed in the creation of this art.

I’m liking the customised wheelbarrow, might try that with mine.

It is a crap wheelbarrow. It folded the first time we used it. We do have serious one also...

If it folded enough it might be art now

That bathtub would pop a lot better if you hit that cube piece of wood with a sander.
Start at 40 grit and up to 240 grit.
Few coats of Danish oil. (Should be easy to get Danish oil around your neck of the woods)

(Remember the sandpaper rule)
As a general rule of thumb, you should never skip more than one grit size or you will not remove the scratches made by the coarser grit.

So 40, 80,120, 180, 240

Otherwise that cube will crack like a walnut if it’s in a room where you have heating in winter

This was the first thing that ran through my head when I read the thread title. Classic. 😜

Well done on the cube!

For me, chainsaws fall into the same category as removing casebacks from watches. Not for me! 😲
