The hour hand lume is a three section design but with long thin plots unlike Invicta/Rolex Mercedes round.

Seiko divers were the next closest thing I could find but I’m convinced (in my head) the 12 o clock marker was an inverted triangle with a sharp point that I can’t find on a similar seiko.

I hadn’t thought about the hour marker. Can’t really make it out but you could be right.

Smoother unsigned crown, generally Invicta's tend to be signed or patterned in some way to reflect the model range, well at least in the automatic Invicta's I own.

Grabbed a drink and a bite in the West Village yesterday, saw a Zenith Defy Skyline chrono on someone's wrist.

Zenith buyers - they do exist!

Audience member at a conference wearing Seiko 5, possibly vintage. The bracelet is what caught my eye. Assume after market.

I don’t see them too often anymore. Mostly Apple Watches or no watch at all these days. But every now and then I’ll spot a nice old Rolex, Omega, or TAG in the wild, and it always catches my eye. A good watch still says a lot without saying much.

I was in London last Friday to pick up my new Panerai and spotted a few nice pieces which was a surprise considering the reputation London has for watch theft.

A guy in his late 20's sporting a Submariner at Paddington Station, a middle aged Asian guy wearing an AP of some description in Fortnum and Mason and a young lady sporting a two tone DateJust leaning on the railings listening to the string quintet playing Vivaldi in Covent Garden.

It goes without saying I see a higher concentration of nicer watches in denser populated settings, and the socioeconomic factors obviously play a role. When visiting family in Florida retirement communities or on business to Singapore, I would see Rolexes (and no small supply of Daytonas), Omegas, Breitlings, Hublots, etc., regularly. Unsurprisingly.

Outside those unique settings, I also see more analog watches than I used to with younger professionals in office environments. I still see a high ratio of smart watches to analog but I’m confident I see the balance tipping ever so slightly more toward analog than perhaps 6-7 years ago.

Case in point, I was at a cafe the other day and a group of people that appeared to be coworkers came in. Different age ranges and an unsurprising number of smartwatches, but in the group was a young-ish guy wearing a Nomos. I have hope for the young’uns.

My daughter’s Blok watch in the wilderness of her room that I keep reminding her is in need of a cleaning.

I bought it for her some years ago when she was probably too young to use it.

I am seeing the new sapphire Speedy in the wild quite often - more than my Rolex Submariner and Datejust spottings combined. Before the 3861 released, I only ever saw one Speedmaster when out and about (aside from mine that is)!

I plan to get a 3861, and the ubiquity of the sapphire is steering me towards the hesalite.

Cab driver from airport in Skopje. Fake AP but at least not the usual Chinese watch. The guy was honest enough to say: this is not a real one.

" Hello Politzei there is a creepy old man taking pictures of my bum and saying it looks good!" 😉

Watch photography is risky business!😀
Definitely a very dangerous one. And try to explain to the Politzei the reason why the picture was taken..

Just find an officer with a nice watch and show him this tread. 😀

LOL. Honestly never thought of that. Thats sounds like some woke mind viral infection TBH … only fully clothed people revealing nothing but a Tudor big block.

But now that you mention it, lets lay down some facts : she was certainly older than me. And regarding taste of nether regions : lets just say ‘to each his own’ 😀

Was surprised to encounter this kind of variety on three separate occasions in a single week.

1. Deepsea at a music recital.

2. Superocean dining alfresco.

3. Yema Superman 500 at a play.

I saw a person at work with a 3861 Speedmaster on.

I asked him about it and he noted that his dad had worked at NASA and he purchased the watch in his honor after his passing... pretty cool.
