How often do you see ANY nice watch in the wild?

Guy sitting near me on plane right now is wearing an older Breitling Navitimer. These are hard to miss with their size and toothy bezel inserts.
What, like this?

Yes and nice!
Interesting you saw one while traveling. I don’t wear it much at home but sometimes I make it a vacation travel watch. It’s one of the few watches that draws strangers’ attention. I was once standing in line at an airport and a pilot walked up to ask about it.

I have had two memorable ones:

Very recently, on a flight from Vienna to Luxembourg, the gentleman sitting next to me was wearing a beautiful yellow-gold Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 ref. 2585 -the same model Pierce Brosnan owns.

The other was, some years ago, a Cartier Privé Cloche on the wrist of a young man in the Madrid metro, who looked like he was probably on his way to university, student backpack and all.

I am so sorry but that watch made me think of him:
And WTF is James Bond doing with something else than a Seamaster.

At the parts counter at my local VW dealership, the staff person asked me, “is that a Black Bay Heritage 41?”. We then struck a watch-related conversation (naturally) and he mentioned another watch collecting pal of his. After some further investigation he turns out to be a local guy I follow on instagram who I’m planning to have drinks with. Small world.

Tudor at a coffee shop.

"Don't move. Imma take a photo real quick"
"On second thought , why don't you unbutton that sleeve".

This! is how this thread should be done.
My dude Felix sets the bar.

It only works with specimens I find in their natural habitat where my presence doesn't interfere with their wild ecosystem. Saw a Nomos in an elevator the other day but didn't want to spook it.

Was at the DMV last month, the guy who sits down next to me had a Mint Green Day Date on. Spoke a little about watches while we waited.

We went to museums in DC over the weekend and it felt like 20%+ of the museum patrons were wearing either a sub or an explorer II

Same when we went to Disney World last year.

Was at a kids sporting event with lots of parents milling around. In a sea of smart watches anything analog caught my eye. Saw this and wasn’t sure what it was. Snapped a couple pics for later analysis.

Later at home spent some time trying do some forensics. Pretty sure that’s a scalloped bezel but with those makers I don’t recognize what it might be.

After some internet-ing this is the closest I can figure.

The only difference I can make out is the bezel insert is a bit different, the guy's has a 10 on it where the Invicta doesn't. But it otherwise does look the same so it might still be an Invicta, just a slightly different variant. Probably some kind of homage one way or another.

By the way that Invicta with the scalloped edges and the large font is directly copying the Peter Blake bezel imo.

Yep I still can’t figure that out. Invicta pro divers with a 10 on the bezel all have more coin edge or gear tooth like bezel edges as far as I can find.

Looking at hour markers/lume plots and hour hand lume pattern, want to say it falls somewhere in the Seiko Diver family, but with scalloped bezel, doesn't feel exactly correct. Thought maybe Grand Seiko but not that familiar with them.

Feel like it's something else I'm missing. Know I've seen it before, just need to let it bake in my noodle for a little bit.
