My friends and I sometimes go this blues (kind of) place. Last time I was there two pretty women in their 40s sitting right next to me were both wearing Rolex Subs, probably 14060 or 5513 because no fat case. Looked damn good on them. And another guy right behind me was also wearing a Sub. Glad I didn't wore mine, that would have been too much, I guess. At that place I have seen several vintage Omegas and a couple of vintage Speedies.

I was on the tube in London recently, wearing my Speedie, and the guy sitting next to me was wearing a Seamaster Professional. Soon after that, another guy got on and sat opposite me and I saw he was wearing a stunning 1680 'Red' Submariner. I got off at the same stop as the 'Red' Sub and wanted to complement the wearer but in the end I decided against it.

Last Thursday night I went to a function at my son's high school that introduced the guidance counselors to the freshman parents. After the presentation, I was waiting to speak to one of the counselors when another father said, "Excuse me, but is that a vintage Omega?"

I was wearing my father's 18k 2652 Constellation, circa 1953 (https://omegaforums.net/threads/restoring-my-fathers-constellation.45080/). He was wearing a black dial Aqua Terra. I really like the Acqua Terras and if I add another Omega, that model may be my first choice.

He also told a story about rediscovering his (probably great) uncle's Omega that was from the 30's to late 40's. He thought it had been stolen by their cleaning people at some point, but found it recently when moving furniture around in their house.

My first "in the wild" watch conversation.

Alas - the Northern Line! "Alas" partly because it was someone else, and partly because I was on the Northern Line...

Working in academic medicine I see lots of "wild"-both on the wrists of patients/families and other health care professionals. One colleague has a DateJust 41 alternating with his Breitling Super Ocean, another has a Speedmaster Reduced. I have seen a few very nice pieces on the wrists of surgeons and emergency docs. Those on my patient's wrists range from Timex to Apple to Seiko and I recently saw a few Rolex pieces. One fellow commented on my watch, which I think was an Omega AT that day and he showed me what was supposed to be a Rolex Sub, which he proudly told me cost him all of $12.99 in some far off market.
I will say my wife finds my "watchspotting" a great source of humour, esp when we go out to a play or a nicer restaurant...::popcorn::

At the hospital I work at in Burbank it is situated between NBC, Disney, and Warner bros movie studio is down the street as well as their music business offices. Besides the Hollywood locals there are several medical offices, hipster hangouts and yes porn studios. My point is I see at least several high end watches every day. I have several co-workers who wear omega, most of the drs I work with opt for Rolex but some have Panerai, Cartier and tag. Mostly I see omega just because that is the circle I tend to hang out in.

that reminded me. The lady that cuts my hair wears a hulk. I personally don't get the appeal of Hulk. That green just clashes with everything and looks bulky.

Haha!! I usually go to a barber. $15 to $20 plus tip but do venture out to this beauty salon once in a while. $40 plus tip. Yeah, not cheap but not astronomical. Give me a break, man! It's LA, la la land.

TAG is what I see around the most, usually F1's or Aquaracers. I see quite a few Rolex, Subs and Daytonas mainly, also a reasonable amount of wave dial Omega Seamasters.

Very rare I see a Speedmaster around this neck of the woods which is both good and bad I guess(wouldn't like them to be common, but would like to see one out and about now and again). I've seen a couple of Ploprofs this past few Months which really filled me with joy for some strange reason(bit like that feeling of seeing Concorde fly overhead when I was a kid:D).

I got recognized as wearing vintage a couple of weeks ago. A restaurant in Seattle with a gelato counter, and the owner (?) admired my Connie C-shape. He said he used to have a C-shape, that had been his father's, but it was lost. He took it off to wash his hands in a public bathroom and left without it, realized he forgot it after about 2 minutes, but it was already gone. :( I told him to look on the forum's "for sale" sections but he didn't seem interested in paying what they cost now.

Once a month on average. There's not a bunch of money spent on watches around me.
