That's my problem with watch spotting Uniquez. It's "one of those," but which one of those is it?
I hear you man... Some of them are ended up being Micheal Kors, Fossil, Invicta etc ))). TSA officer at one of the airports was flashing a two tone Sub- that ended up being Invicta).
On the other hand, I was in Atlanta earlier this year having desert in my favorite place , saw the German guy was wearing Speedy reduced. I have complimented him on his watch by saying : "Nice speedy man!" . He looked at me like : " What??". I said : "The watch, speedmaster". He goes:" I don't know what it is, my parents gave me the watch, when I finished university."
Since then, I'm trying not to comment on somebody's watch, so I won't look stupid in front of the stranger.)

Just got back from the Gartner security summit in DC. Quite a few nice sightings in the vendor pit.
1 Batman
2 Panari, one a GMT, couldn't make out the other
1 Day Date
2 Datejust both 2 tone
2 Submariners
2 Omega one a speedy and one a 36mm quartz Seamaster

I rocked my Explorer II for the week.

When flying, I look at the wrists of people as I walk past those in first class on my way to coach. I usually see Rolex watches. Once I saw two Omega.

Outside of that, I gotta say it's pretty rare to see anyone wearing a real mechanical or automatic watch. I guess I am hanging out in the wrong places. My guestimate is 95.99% don't wear watches, an the other 4% wear apple watches or digital watches.

Hey, I just wore my Ploprof for 25 days straight. I'm thinking it's pretty rare for anyone here to jave worn a single watch in their collection for that length of time.
Hey I think I saw you ! You were in Paris, at the little bistro around the corner from my hotel right?
I didn't say hello as the woman you were with was not your wife. 😁

Spotted at the basement poker table last night:

My lucky charm:
Yours is MUCH nicer. Hope you won 😀

QUOTE="mrs_LA, post: 1197156, member: 53454"]Unfortunately, precisely because we live in LA, I feel that the occurrence of seeing somebody sporting a fashion watch is really, really high too! This goes to many of my ladies out there. Michael Kors, Coach... oh my, the list goes on. I do find respectable ones like the Cartier Tank, but still quite rare. Few instances I have come across an older lady with a Patek at the groceries and farmer's market, but too much of the fashion watches![/QUOTE]

welcome @mrs_LA, it’s nice to see other women in these parts!
Best regards

Collecting my car rental at the airport last week, the guy at the counter next to me was wearing a Lange 1. I complimented him on it but he just grunted. I was wearing my Apollo 11 35th which he didn't clock.

I’m searching around for new careers. Met with a guy at his realestate office. I put on my Cellini not to impress just don’t wear it much, people don’t notice it anyway but the guy was wearing a DJ. First one I’ve seen in the wild in a while. I complemented him led to a 10 minute watch conversation. He really wants me to join him I figure what the hell its not like I have a lot going on. It’s always nice to talk watches with anyone.

Maybe you misread the thread title? It's "in the wild" not "whilst getting wild" 😁::stirthepot::

I find it difficult to see what watch someone is wearing without making it obvious that I am staring. However on the train into London yesterday there was a young asian couple standing across the aisle, she had a Lady DJ whilst he was wearing an Explorer, both very happy to flash the watches whilst they discussed their forthcoming shopping trip to Dubai 😀

I am obsessive wrist watcher. If I spot someone wearing a Rolex, I definitely do not comment.. From experience, most have no idea of what they have... On the other hand, as I have a couple of the latter Omega models.. How do you say, I have one the same at home, and not feel like a dick... ? Despite what I am wearing...

Maybe also some fear of being conked over the head in the parking lot

Hadn't thought of that! In fairness, not sure many muggers would politely say "That's a beautiful Lange 1, you have great taste"

Unless I’m in a rush or physically can’t get to the person wearing the watch, I always comment. On planes, at grocery stores, at parks while kiddo plays, you name it. And usually while my wife rolls her eyes! Maybe once or twice someone’s been standoffish, but that’s been rare in my experience. I try and make sure I show them what I’m wearing right away, so it’s clear I’m a fellow enthusiast and not a mugger! Has led to some really cool conversations.
