I always keep telling myself that this will be the last one. I think I'm just lying to myself at this point.

I now have 7 watches (8 if you count the apple watch). I, too, keep lying to myself saying the last one will be the last one...

13 (well, I'm waiting for the 13th to arrive). I had sworn I'd stop at 12 (there are a few good reasons for this being an ideal number), but there just aren't any I could bear getting rid of. And there's still at least one more I must get at some point.

Much more than 12 and it becomes very difficult to keep them all serviced and to give them all regular and prolonged time on the wrist.

Once you get number 13 you may become conveniently superstitious and decide that 14 is a safer number.

Also, while both 13 and 14 slot watch boxes are hard to come by, a 6 slot and 8 slot together nicely cover 14.

Trying to stick to my "one in one out" rule but you guys probably know how hard that is...
Does ONE IN (>$1K) and ONE OUT (<$200) count?

Yes, and of course one out for >$1k excuses five in at <$200 each. Rinse and repeat. It's like multilevel marketing. Perfectly sound.

It's quite interesting that before 2016 I had no interest in watches. I didn't know anything about watches. I only knew that Rolex was a serious player. And I just had 1 watch - a cheap quartz Fossil 馃榾
Then one day I got infected by this incurable disease VWS (vintage watch syndrome)... then I joined this forum.
8 years later I am doing custom Omega Speedmaster and searching next vintage chronograph ffs!

Tried to have not more than 10 for the first years. When I bought the 11th one and was not able to give one other away I was lost

In short: too many.

I own 20 sports tracker watches alone. Have not bothered counting the rest for a while but do know I have added a further 7 this year so far.

I was assuming this has been asked already but I couldn't find the thread.
Please link the thread below and ignore this one if so.

I'm curious how many watches everyone owns? I met a collector today who owned 50 which blew my mind as I only own 6, but it has only been a few years buying watches for me. Even with 6, I always see myself going back and forth of the thought that this is too much.. but yes, I do want so many more. Maybe I'm only thinking about watches I can wear and not watches for only collecting purposes yet?

How many watches do you own? And how many watches do you wear?
I own 10 and wear 8 of them regularly.

Seven, with an eight in transit. Have recently sold two though, and the goal is to whittle the group down to three or a maximum of four. The hunt and thrill of purchasing have been much higher than owning pretty much all of them (with one or two exceptions), which is probably a good indicator that I should buy less.
