How about posting photos, not just links, if you want help rebuilding your Seamaster collection?

A bit more info around what parts you need and the condition of your other watch?

Hi sorry a bit vague i know, i was out and about and did it from phone where i didnt have access to everything. I had a thread a while back...

"Constellation or seamster conversion"

The thread is about my purchase of a watch 12 years ago i thought was original (bar the case back) but have since found its made up of 4 different models! so im looking for all the parts to make a seamaster and a constellation!

I think we will need more info regarding your watches to fresh our memory. I did not find the previous thread. Anyway in my opinion if you will make two watches from parts they will not have a great value for a collector.

According to Omega, your movement came from a ref. 168.004. If you want to make a "correct" watch, that's the case you need to find, like the first eBay listing you linked

"Constellation or seamster conversion" . Note the deliberate spelling mistake!

Why not just add this to your previous thread so people understand what you are asking? I vaguely remember that you had a Frankenwatch, but I certainly don't recall the details and couldn't begin to say if the eBay link is relevant. But IIRC, you were told the reference you needed to look for, so that should answer your questions.

Excellent idea I shall do that forthwith. Would you be able to provide me with a more useful answer in that thread?

Why are we wasting out time here? He refuses to post pictures, I refuse to state an opinion.

Milog you have cancer, if you thrash your watch your life will improve, so just gift it to someone

If you buy this watch it adds 2 new problems to your existing 3 problems

Edit: At least 2

That's a quote from the previous thread.

The eBay watch you linked to in this thread is not a 168.004, and its dial is not original (though I can't remember what parts you're looking for). I think the best advice you got from the first thread was to accept the watch you have as is and if it still bothers you set aside some money for a correct example. You can get a nice original Seamaster for not too much. Trying to piece together multiple watches from parts is not as easy as it sounds, and it sounds pretty hard and expensive to me.

Thanks for your advice ..is the way to tell the dial is not original due to the non matching m 's and the emblem and the constellation looks badly written?
You're right . I need to give up on this idea. Would I get more for my watch in bits or as a complete unit?

I based my statement mostly on the upside down painted star and sloppy constellation. The other fonts seem possibly okay, but I'm not familiar enough with these models to know.

I'm not sure about the value of your watch. I'd guess it's roughly the same either way, but others may know better. Share all the photos you can here if you want better advice, though.
Edit: I actually think selling the parts (upper case, case back, movement with likely service dial) separately would bring the most money, but it might take a while to sell them all. The upper case looks nice and would probably go quickly.

Since you've had it for years, though, I would suggest not rushing to sell it unless you're sure. If you can swing it, I'd say get another watch you think you'll like and wear it for a while before parting with your other one just to make sure you won't regret getting rid of it. The sentimental attachment I've formed to some (even cheap) watches in even a short time is surprisingly, maybe worryingly, strong.

It may be worth a clear update as I’ve no idea what the actual question is anymore.
