Dogs can have such different personalities...Raven would go after any cat she saw, and Remi would start barking too, but only because Raven was barking. Now that she's gone, cats are barely even noticed by him...

Raven would pretty much ignore things laying around, but Remi finds gold (in his mind) all the time on walks. Usually it's stuff that's blown out of people's recycling bin on a windy day, so paper coffee cups, plastic water bottles, etc. But this morning on our walk he came across a stray beer can (neighbours had a big party yesterday that we were at also) and he was very excited...

He originally picked it up by one end, but he managed to crumple it in the middle enough (with a little help from my wife) so that he could carry it more comfortably for our entire walk...

We finally arrived home after a good walk, him carrying the can all the way - he's carried stuff for miles before. When we got inside it was quickly traded for a treat, and he was happy!

He's doing his part to keep the neibourhood clean and tidy! :)

Just going by looks, I would have guessed that Remi was more of a chaser than a retriever, he looks like he can really fly. But they all have their own quirks.

Toby the shitzu. My wife got him from her work. Found him walking down the sidewalk with his leash still on. Whoever had must have mistreated him. He was mean little cuss. You would be giving him a good scratch which he would be enjoying then he would turn on you like the devil. He was a good boy. On vacation in 2010 with us he passed to dog heaven unexpectedly. That was a hell of deal.

When I "like" a posting with a picture and story (that is sad), I'm liking the picture and the decency shown to the animal. There are a lot of sad posts here, but I love the way you all treat our furry friends. I'll continue to "like" every photo, because I love pets.

After losing Dundee, we had to find a suitable companion for Sasha. Meet Molly. She's already plotting.... Pic by Mrs. duc.

    Oh he can chase too!

In this case a tennis ball and he caught it on the bounce. He didn't get close to his top speed in this video...he's very fast...

Raven was also very fast in the early years, but later in life she wasn't up to chasing balls and frisbees anymore, so when we went to the park she would mostly wander around and eat the flowers off the dandelions. :)

    I knew he was fast.

Edit: When I played the video, Zelda jumped up out of her bed and ran to the door with a slight "woof". Her ears picked up the faint jingling of Remi's collar.

We hope so. Her sister from another mother, Sasha, has 1/2 blue eyes and they never changed (which is to say they stayed blue in the lower half of the Iris, while the upper half is dark brown).

    It's a cool look:

Border Collie, right. Had one that 1/2 when I was a kid. Smartest dog in the world according to my dad.
