Really enjoy this thread about our four legged family members. But reading about the loss of a pet really hits hard, I dread the day. I was at the vet yesterday with my 17 plus Jack Russell. Really fortunate to still have him. Not sure how much longer since his heart is giving out but he still is comfortable and happy.

Here is Lucy. Neighbors dog had puppies and she would go over and lay on the pillow with pups and wash them everyday

Ian...Just caught up on this...My sympathies on your loss...Assume he will live on as your Avatar as will Banzai....

Yes he will live on as long as I’m here.

Prior to Chunky we only had the odd long weekend away in England but when we got him we decided to holiday for a week at home, usually Cornwall way. Arrived in Bude on Saturday for the first time in 11 years without him so thought I’d reminisce and post a couple of pictures of him from previous holidays.

First picture is Chunky posing outside Jamaica Inn. Then typical Chunky salivating over my tea.
Then enjoying a walk on the beach.

I know they say time is healer but I’m currently sat on the beach crying my eyes out whilst typing this. This is from a man that shows less emotions than the Terminator, according to my wife.

You've lost your best friend, crying is allowed 😉

There were everyday activities that Banzai loved. When I'm doing these, I feel his absence. Happens to my wife and son as well. They become a part of you. When they are gone it hurts.

Let play guess the breed. Luca here is a mix of two well know Asian breeds.
Pekinese and Chow. or Pekinese and Lhasa Apso.

Thank you for posting those photos of your friend. His face had so much personality, and it's clear there was nothing he liked more than to be with you.

Most of us have been there, it got easier with time for me but I’m always sad when I think about letting my boy go. I felt a lot of guilt getting a new family dog, but the personalities are so diff it helped....I don’t see the new one as a replacement (a good dog can never be replaced), but as an addition.

I’m sorry for you brother.

Whats your preferred term for that pose? We have 'Long dog' and 'chicken legs'...as in " he's over there with his chicken legs out"

"Frog-leg" position. Also known as "sploot" position, or "splooting". 😁

Frogged as in "she's frogged out".
