I have some soil out for when I’m feeling better but Maharishi Yogi cares not for my plans. You want to yell at him but it looked so important to him I just laughed.

Oh, don't I know where you're coming from LOL!

Madam Poppy *loves* digging holes in the garden too. I gave up stopping her years ago, and besides I get a good laugh out of watching her take it so very seriously.

I was talking to my buddy who was spending his last day with his dog and was of course very upset. I know most of us here have put down a furry buddy. Someone sent him this with the hopes of cheering him up I’ll be damned if it didn’t bring a tear to my eye

I empathize with your friend - having to let my dog go cut deep. At the time, I found solace in this poem by Billy Collins (former US Poet Laureate). It still hits me squarely in the feels every time I read it, even though it's been 3+ years since my pup left us.

“A Dog, on His Master” by Billy Collins.

As young as I look,
I am growing older faster than he,
seven to one
is the ratio they tend to say.

Whatever the number,
I will pass him one day
and take the lead
the way I do on our walks in the woods.

And if this ever manages
to cross his mind,
it would be the sweetest
shadow I have ever cast on snow or grass.

I am monitoring Rocky Raccoon he is not himself. Has not fought with his brother in a few days and not showing much interest in food. My wife thinks I gave him Covid as he was doing those crazy cat sneezes the other day for 20 minutes. I had to look online and that is possible but I don’t know how likely. It’s is 90-100 degrees Fahrenheit with 100% humidity the past week so I’m thinking it’s the heat and he likes to eat our plants might have got one that made him ill. I won’t run off to the vet yet, I let him stay in the under the vents for the central air and he’s not in pain that I can tell. I’ll give him a couple days maybe change his diet I’m sure this will pass. Poor Rocky I wish he could tell me what’s going on

@Walrus
Hope he feels better soon. Would a sponge down help? The Molverine seems to like that in hot weather to cool her off.

Thanks he does like water I gave him a bath which is usually a struggle with cats he loved sitting in the water. I think we (me) just get hypersensitive to the well-being of kids, the elderly and animals at times. You got great pictures of queen fluffy looks like she is living her best life.

We are enjoying a weekend city trip in Antwerp, so Neo is staying with his dogsitter who is also a friend of ours, and most importantly with his girlfriend Clarke, 6 months older than him (12yo... Yeah, she is a bit of a cougar)

Hope Rocky feels more chipper soon @Walrus, could well be the heat making him feel off colour.

OTOH it's never good to have a house plant nibbler, as so many popular plants are toxic to cats. Always worth looking up which ones are safe and which ones aren't.

Madam Poppy is the plant nibbler here chez Casa Reynard. But I gave up on having house plants years ago because the little minx also liked piddling in the pots... 😟
