The brothers were helping me do yard work but then started stalking each other. The furthest the seem to go is my neighbors yard which seems to be their favorite fighting spot but now my neighbors young daughter wants a kitty but the mother is seriously allergic. They both stop fighting so she can pat them but cries when they come home

First camping trip of the season in the Lost Creek Wilderness. Not exactly the spectacular alpine scenery of our usual trips, but the snow is still pretty deep at high elevations, so this is a good early season destination, known for its interesting rock formations. It's also pretty accessible to the front range population centers, meaning that it was a lot more crowded than our usual trips. That's a plus as far as Max is concerned ... more people = more friends.

We have had an early monsoon season this year and the creeks are running very high, so the highlight of the trip was Max doggie-paddling his way across waist-high fast-running water still wearing his pack. Unfortunately, I was busy making my own way across and did not capture a photo. My previous dogs were not such strong swimmers and always needed encouragement to cross, so I figured I would cross to the other side and then call him. But he is very confident in the water and followed right behind me, so when I turned around, there he was.

So we had to do a Vet run for Old boy yesterday, but it seems to have perked him up and his weight was stable so could be worse. He had a few treatments and took it all pretty well. With the better weather we are letting Molly...now aka the Mollociraptor, storm the bastille a bit more. The only trouble is if Old boy feels his home territory is not respected (and with a few old boy age issues anyway) X can mark the spot (only it is a liquid X to show maximum annoyance). I just caught the Molverine on another stairs run.... she is wide eyed like she just climbed everest and found the promised land.... he is like WTF.....we need to get her a triple AAA house pass approved anyway before we hit winter again...slowly does it.
