Roasting hot in the UK this weekend. Molverine hides in the day and needs a cold sponge down but is queen of the night. Old boy is on a bit of a downturn again but still loving the sunshine which is nice to see.

Maharishi Yogi walked down with me to get the garbage cans. He liked rolling around in dirt something Hairy never would have done. But I dust him off before he comes in. Whenever I crouched down to get a picture of him near the cans he ran over to me so again my wildlife photography skills are lacking.

Sorry for an extra Old boy post but we just got what counts for us as a family photo today. The amount of time and effort in terms of his health and trying to habitualise this pair has been huge the last few months. It is a tribute to his fighting spirit and her stubborn tenacity and caring nature we have got this far. Not sure how long we will have Old boy but another good day today

I can’t see enough pictures so don’t apologize. Old boy looks good today. I know these health battles and medical care with animals is heart wrenching. The vet has me practicing giving Rocky raccoon pills as she was convinced he had heart problems when he heart beat at the vet came in at 110pbm but as I said before it turns out (by numerous tests) his heart beat is normal for him just out of range for traditional cat heart rate. I was preparing to go the distance. As always, wish you the best in your current struggles.

I think getting them geared up for interventions is good. I have a harness / lead for the Mo now and want to see the art of the possible… but she is four already. Old Boy is till the boss of the house but here she is this evening getting ready (unbrushed) for a night on the prowl.

So, I set up a critter cam to see what the get up to at night... the good news is the two Amigos do seem to rub along ok now and no fighting or hissing without any Hoomans to make them jealous. They were more active than I expected .... but aside from the usual expected cat stuff no great revelations. Molverine seems to be part raccoon / monkey and is very nosy.... but we knew that anyway.

The brothers Grimm greeted each other with a kiss then proceeded to birdwatch together but as always the peace didn’t last long

The UK heatwave continues. Old boy is still under the weather but loving the sun and hiding in the Tomatoes. Molverine struggles but the sponge bath seems to giver her more knots... but cold beer bottles seem to work (it is a tough life at times ;0)

How is old boys weight and appetite holding up? Seems like if they keep the appetite you have something to work with. His eyes don’t look as bright in that picture and it looks like his nose is a bit dry but perhaps he just woke up. I really hope he gets on the mend.

It is all very saw tooth and once muscle starts to get damaged / reduced it is hard to reverse. He is supposed to be on a special diet now but when that is not working we do try all options. He has a five course buffet down tonight. It is very variable but he is leading us a bit on what he needs and what he can cope with. He is still very present and let’s us know when the hotel service is below par. I got some nice pictures today I will load up. He likes a nose bunt and is extra affectionate these days, and I can say when we get those the nose is typically very wet ;0)

I should add that picture used fill in flash for the sunlight / he was in shade, so it did wash him out a bit. But for sure we have age, kidneys, thyroid and intestinal issues so it’s a gentle management situation for him.

Not content with jumping on my bed at home he seems to think it is just fine to do the same in the motorhome 😀
