Lazy Sunday after a busy day yesterday at the coast.

Ah, no offense meant but he doesn’t seem to be a ball of energy at the coast, looks lovely though.

I cleaned a chandelier, large window and stairs yesterday. Got everything done but had a NDE as I took a tumble down the stairs. Luckily only my head and back hurt today but yesterday after the fall I was laid up so I watched that documentary about the intelligence of cats on Netflix. It was pretty interesting and although they said having a pet cat is pretty close to having a wild animal in your home studies are showing they are much more intelligent than originally thought, also far more social than originally thought.
More studies have been done on dogs and they estimate science is about 15 years behind the study of cat behavior, learning etc than dogs. Seems Tokyo is leading the charge in cat studies as there are an estimated 9 million pet cats in Tokyo alone.
I won’t go over all the science they went over just watch the documentary if you have the inclination. They did show these cats that were apparently on “americas got talent” a show I don’t watch and it was pretty cool to see. By the way I like documentaries on all animals I think dogs are cool and smart and still miss my German Shepard. So first the stairs I tumbled down giving me time to watch the doc. Than the link. I’m ok but severe pain yesterday

Yeah, I caught him in between. There was a lot of chasing birds and other dogs. Kindof like this but with sand...

One thing I learned in the documentary last night was the average speed of an unconditioned house cat is 35mph. They are kinda built for speed as they have “springs” in-between their vertebrae that help them beet feet. I think they are made more for short bursts like the cheetah that fastest land mammal I don’t think they are long distance runners at 65-70mph

Sorry about the bad pic but Maharishi was on top of our cabinets chasing a moth. The cabinets are over 7feet up. I saw him preparing to make a 6foot long jump to the top of the fridge. Cats are one of the only animals that can use 100% of their muscles when they jump. If humans could jump equal to that of a house cat we could clear a giraffe. He made it.

My wife met a woman at the vets the other day that breeds cats. They got talking and exchanged details. On Sunday she informed me that she was going to the woman's house to see her and her cats.
I suspected we may have a new family member in the works😉
Say hello to Luna😀 Our only girl pet🥰

Oona doing physics experiments

Could be an expensive experiment if Oona discovers entanglement theory

I have not posted Old boy for a bit as he has not been at his best / lost a lot of weight and showing his age.... but the King is back and seems on the mend. He made it out to reclaim the high-ground (helped by the better weather) last week and has even been doing the rounds to visit friends watching some TV with them before heading home (to wake me up at 3am). Young Girl has the opposite problem and it is boom-boom shake the room when she jumps a fence as she works that booty (a summer diet might be looming). They still hate each other but have stopped hissing which is a positive step.

So this is youg girl today - impervious to the rain... and I suspect the wind based on her rubenesque centre of gravity.
Wrapped in her fur cape and about to start her Jake the puss ..I mean Peg routine (if that is still allowed these days ;0). They say the camera never lies but , she has put on some winter weight as I said above.... but not that much! Having said that the shed is bowing a bit (she is a clever girl and stays near the corner :0) Poor old boy is getting sumo'ed out of his territory. It is hard with one off his food and one mad for food... but she had a tough start in life before we took her on and eats for England (and Scotland, Wales and Ireland it seems) ... will have to try harder but she bullies me as well now ;0)

Holy cow she sits like hairy did with three paws in a row with the fourth hidden somewhere.
She looks fantastic with her fur like that I wish I could adopt her.

Not exactly pets, but I do feed and house them.

This year's bluebirds hanging out at the suet feeder on a chilly day.

Last year's babies.

I'm hoping for a good crop of bluebirds this year. Last year, a 5' rat snake squeezed into the house and ate the second batch of eggs.

I've got a snake guard up now.

Breaking a house rule and to be honest I could not be angry with the little boy, that face just melts my heart so much so that we just had a cuddle 🥰🥰🥰
