On Eccles Pike in the Peaks then a pub beer garden after he'd decided "mud, mud, glorious mud" was the way to go.
The brown on his face is sun tan cream mixed with muck.

Sounds and looks like a perfect day 👍

Great memory to cherish!

Neo's best friend (boxer too) has been diagnosed with brain tumor 🙁

She is only 6 months older than him, 11 yo, and full of life...

A couple of weeks ago, another friend of his (golden retriever) died as well of cancer, 10 yo.

You can feel that his generation is coming to a closure, and it makes me nervous.

He needs to stay a few more years 😀 ... 3 more at least 😉

I'm hoping that Neo and his friend will have more years of good time together.

Thanks, yes it was a cracker. Whenever we go away, the cunning monkey knows if he doesn't eat the food that we've brought, he'll get something in a pub.
Last night it was Pork, chicken and stuffing pie.
Mum and dad shared the pickles and tomatoes

Wow I got the letter from the vet, similar style as when sooper dooper went but they got much more personal with this. I put on my temporary hairy memorial watch and opened the letter I even have hairys paw prints. Maybe it was all the money I spent or the extended effort both they and I went through to save her.

Lovely indeed, my wife has an arm full of paw print tattoos of many of our lost pets. She's a vet tech and sees it every day, the range of emotions is insane. From a euth to a puppy to a regular cat scared to come out of the carrier, it's a new adventure but she loves them all like her own. Sorry your pet couldn't be saved but I'm sure they're waiting on the other side of the rainbow bridge. *hugs*

Ah interesting so this is a common thing I’ve had numerous pets unfortunately I have seen many go this is the first time I received a print. I have a “kitten wanted” ad on a local online thing a very nice lady offered me two complete spazzy black and white kittens. It was very difficult but I had to say no as my wife wants to start out with one. Normally I would just ignore such a request but she also took losing two pets so close together pretty hard. I am also talking to a very cool gentleman here about a rescue he has.

On a side note I stopped by my buddy’s auto shop after work yesterday. He had one of the massive Belgium Shepards he put down almost a year ago. I asked him if he picked a new furry friend up yet he got a bit teary and said “no I don’t know if I can deal with losing another one.” The kind of funny part his he is a big burly guy who was associated with a well known bikers gang. (He left that life but kept the look) so he and I had a 10 minute teary eyed talk about pets then I helped him close his shop.

These bonds we make with our furry friends are something to behold. I think your wife has a cool job but the euthanasia part has to be tough. I have been considering a career change as I’ve got covid so many times now and although we don’t do contact tracing everytime I’ve had it it’s been after contact with someone at work. Vet tech sounds cool but seeing injured animals might freak me out too much. Still hats off to your wife she does good things for animals.sorry for the ramble

Look at Only Maine Coons Rescue, we got our most recent on there and they have a wide range of kittens to older pets. I don't know if using me as a reference would help, but I'm more than willing to do so.

Losing a pet can affect the strongest of us. It's so hard to keep losing them and I have no idea what makes me keep going back for more. We've had as many as 15 cats, 3 dogs, 24 chickens and a goat. Never ending pain! We humans are just gluttons for punishment I guess.

That is certainly the hardest part of her job and is one of the reasons why their industry has one of the highest suicide rates. More pets being neglected as people go back to work = more work for them and less time to recover. Especially with the curbside and people being terrible people takes its toll. She has had to be the last thing an animal sees more times than I'll ever be able to count when people can't bear to witness the end. Rant acceptable!

Tunnel vision. It’s string cheese time, which you can get a blurry glimpse of at the very bottom of the picture.

as much as two from the same litter may mean that they leave you at a similar time, we picked up a pair 15 years ago and my wife, who has had cats since she was little, swears that it's the way to go. More than doubles the entertainment value for us and they keep each company all of the time. Perhaps though hurts more though at the end. Big guy on the left certainly missed by his grey sister.

my oldest daughter fosters cats for a local pet rescue society and recently adopted a pair of brothers...they are inseparable and certainly don't do well when apart.

It’s all that’s in his universe at the moment he is one with the cheese

Yes, I understood where the lady was coming from I did not think she was being unreasonable although in my experience kittens who are best of friends often become “annoyed” with their buddies as they age but I have seen cats stay close all their lives. I have a lot of bobcats in my area and almost never do I see them alone. 90% of the time they are paired up. I have read that cats tend to do so as it aids in survival while dogs do it more for the social part but as much as we read about animals we really don’t know what they are thinking.
So I thanked her profusely and told her if I could take both I would but I just want to remain mindful of my wife’s wishes at the moment. I did just sign up for an adoption at the shelter one town over and I’m investigating the Maine coon only rescue. I think I’m finally feeling a little better about the whole thing and im

It is damn hot again in the UK and we are getting defcon warnings and hose pipe bans with abandon. I am just keeping more beers in the fridge. Old boy has some morning sun and then lies on the bed with the fan until late in the day. We are sometimes on pillow duty until he/we get too hot. He will then sunbath in his pot or maybe use a shady box outside provided it meets his standards. Young girl likes a sponge bath once a day and a cold water/milk shake. She is busy keeping the butterflies off the fruits and veggies, when not taking time out in the shade in her favourite spots. Turning into a nice summer as long as we dont watch any news.

Not all the time… his main box in the garage used to be shared with his RIP brother (2016). I dare not touch it too much but it has had some duck tape running repairs and the sheet got another clean this week. I just noticed that dates from 2011. He is a bit old school but is a big ‘fan’ of some modern technology in this weather (but still not convinced by the vacuum cleaner or dish washer :0)
Young girl is the one who is quick to adopt the modern styles and move with the times. She takes it all in her stride.

I was “linked” with this little fellow, looks like a Wolfgang Amadeus if I were to get him. I’m filling out several adoption applications. Some of them are quite intense with the info they ask. I had a local one lined up the lady texted me ask me when I could pick it up but know she went 0 dark 30 on me. I am feeling better after my double loss but it is just so weird being in a house with no pet running around. At night and right when I get home are when it hits me. Im definitely jumping the gun posting this picture as at this point it’s like an internet dating site and I have no clue if I am going to hear back. I hope not to wait longer than the end of this month to have a pet. Im not ruling out a dog just seeing how often my wife can work from home when she finishes the project she is working on. After the intense sadness of a double loss you then need to get used to no one knocking things over or meowing at you around 5am, I used to complain but I loved it.

The Gifford shelter in Boston is a “no kill” shelter. competition for kittens is fierce. But lovely cats and people.

My heart goes out to you @Walrus. It saddens me to no end when I read of a beloved pet passing over to their eternal sleeping spot. I missed this story over the last week and am only catching up now.

It was 7 years between Tommy passing on and our welcoming Presto into our humble home. Rest assured Tommy, catnip glutton of the ages, has been kind enough to share a little of his stash with Hairy while showing her around the new place and introducing her to the mischief making fur angels who have gone before. Much peace to you and the family.
