Well not great news sooper dooper lost 2pounds in six months which is not a good sign. A little infection found on her leg which was treated but she really doesn’t like the bandage. It looks kinda cool. It’s looking like sooper doesn’t have many vet visits left but today she is. That’s all that matters.

After some tests it is leaning towards hypothyroidism in sooper dooper but liver in kidney showing signs of wear. Vet was very decent I just spent a shitload of cash on hairy and we still don’t know exactly what’s up so he sent out for an advanced thyroid blood test that will measure in more detail what her thyroid is doing.
He called me after the visit as he needed to consult with a blood specialist or something and he told me he sent the blood prior to getting my consent so he could not bill me. In other words he didn’t forget to get my consent he was trying to cut me some slack. I certainly would have got the test regardless but I greatly appreciate when people do acts like that and try to pay it forward when I can. It is sounding like with a little luck sooper dooper will hit 25yo which I think is the equivalent of 116 in human years but we are approaching the end. He was kind of telling me that which I already kinda knew. However, if this thyroid is the major factor of the weight loss (her thyroid reading was 2.2 which is still in the therapeutic range but all her life she has been 1 so the fact that it doubled within the timeframe of her losing 2 pounds indicates for her a 2.2 reading most likely indicates hyperthyroidism even though it’s still healthy reading in most cats) damn that was a lot in parentheses it was like a separate post. Anyway if the specialized test confirms this suspicion and we can treat her thyroid who the hells knows maybe she will make it another 5 years. I am giving up on trying to figure this stuff out cause hairy was recently at deaths door according to the vet and sooper has outlived one of her vets (in human years) and that vet said sooper would be dead in 3 month 8 years ago.

She is just sitting here waiting for a treat. She does not appear concerned about her health at all.

So let’s just enjoy the animals while we serve them. I still feel bad about Alphas dog passing I hope all your animals are safe and healthy, when the time comes we deal with what we have it is cool to see everyone take a little time to show their pets it shows how much they mean to all of us and I like seeing all the creatures here, I do wish there were more parrot people with the cool colored feathers.

Ok things got weirder with sooper dooper. I will spare the long story as it ain’t good but last dish effort Is something to increase her appetite. If I can’t at least stop weight loss that’s it. So today I picked up Mirtazapine (from the vet) which is a human antidepressant known to stimulate appetite in cats. I was reading the insert and it was saying “exactly how this medication works is unknown.”
It’s transdermal I rub it on the inside of her ears which I also find odd. But it’s all I have left to try so try I do

Now after I rub her ears with goo an extra treat for sooper she’s gonna love me tonight

Giving sooper the last ditch med. Vet said it’s very important I wear gloves as I rub it on her inner ear but tbh since it’s a human antidepressant it may very well help me as well. I think this is day 3 or 4 I do believe he said I should see her appetite improve now or soon if it’s gonna work at all. Sooper does not mind the med I think she likes the ear massage
