Vets must share a newsletter. Same thing here, drive up, they take the pet inside and you wait in the car.

The cats of course hate the torture box we put them in for the drive. It is a little easier when we were allowed to go in because I could hold them as the vet violently attacked them with their gentle touch.

The bulldog who normally loves people now recognizes the vet building. He hates going inside alone. Last couple of times he fishes all over them when they get near his butt. Kindof glad I don't have to be inside to experience that godawful smell. Must commend the vets and technicians for putting up with it all.

My dog was the same way. He loved car rides but damn he would shake like a leaf as soon as we pulled in the vet parking lot.
I don’t know why but this discussion brought me back to a very sad vet encounter just before covid hit us. It was just me and an elderly lady in the vet waiting room. I was there when they pulled her aside and informed her there was nothing they could do and they needed to put her dog down. She sat down across from me and started at hairy sitting unhappily in her cat box of torture she said “that is a pretty cat you have.” I took hairy out so she could see her better then told her how sorry I was about her dog. She went own to explain her husband died a few months prior and he and the dog were best buddies so it was like a double whammy to her. I deal with sad shit quite often but damn I really that really hit me. We talked but I knew words were useless. In the end she had to go home and deal with that. She was able to leave with her dog but they suggested waiting no longer than two weeks to bring him back for the last time. I wished her the best and watched her drive off. It’s something all us pet lovers deal with but when she told me she would love to get another dog but probably wouldn’t due to her own mortality it was like getting kicked in the chest. Yes I do believe that was my last “normal” vet visit precovid. Shit that was a bummer. Glad I got to share it spread a little joy.

Do you enjoy making people cry? 😉

It's the bitter bargain we make as pet owners. Years of joy balanced with one condensed moment of pain.

Have a great day 😀

That's what I call a "Nope Rope" or "Danger Noodle"...either way, that freaks me out a bit!
Hahaha I love both of those terms! Snakes don't bother me, but my dog sure thinks they're evil and will dispatch them immediately. I actually don't like him doing that. I'm like, "dude, that snake was just minding his own business and you had to go all Texas chainsaw massacre on him!"

I was away a few days this week (I think he liked having more room on the bed). He is still enjoying that his nemisis the bear cat (pictured for old times sake below) has moved... but I suspect he still has a few nightmares and he is very cautious / slowly moving into that cats old haunts. On my return he has taken to sitting behind me - good for my posture but not the most comfortable. He just want to push me back onto the sh-t office chair I think :0)

What a beautiful day! The ocean looks so calm and inviting. What is the water temp? The ocean where I live is typically 11deg C with high surf and dangerous currents. Only insane surfers wearing full wetsuits go into the water here.

Hairy got very excited on the driveway as I was bringing the garbage out. She did that crazy cat roll thing don’t know what that’s all about.

25C and low tide so not much chop. Believe it or not there is rarely any waves in Darwin due to a few islands just above so very calm.

But

Just a few weeks short of box jellyfish season 👎

And

We don’t go much further than ankle deep due to Salt Water Crocodiles 👎

Getting eaten by a croc would sure ruin a nice day at the beach. We have great white sharks, but they only bite people by mistake.

Just ruin…. I would use a stronger word than ruin.

Pulled out of Darwin Harbour. Which means these would have gone past my beach to get into Darwin Harbour

The difference between 2 meters and 4 meters is quite a bit 😗

We are still having a last burst of summer in the UK - so the old boy has been in a super mood. We were out for a few beers last night but quickly forgiven today and he even had some string chasing action in the garden... and quickly back to being a couch potato (he is very much a crepuscular cat and takes it easy in the daytime). A nice chilled Sunday for us today.

What would Dundee say, “now that’s a croc”
