Still enjoying our holidays, sadly my old pal does not have the stamina he once had and on longer walks he now has a stroller which he has taken to really well 😀

On the other hand I really do not think my co-pilot is up to the job 🙁

It is sweet you have the stroller so that he can enjoy walks even in his advanced age.

Had the wagon for the kids when they were little. After they grew up it was used for old Macaroni (Mac) when he could not enjoy a walk.

Paper bags and cardboard boxes are what cat dreams are made of.

Hairy's tail is looking quite impressive these days.
Ya tbh hairy is my first long hair cat. I just figured they were like all cats and the hair is genetically programmed to stop growing at a certain point but not so I guess. Sometimes hairy looks like a cat laying next to a cat with a cat on top. I do trim her up a bit but she could really use one of the poodle type styles. She just hates being poked and prodded I don’t want to put her through that for my entertainment but who knows maybe next summer. I think she was pretty miserable during a couple heat waves we had.

How are you guys doing with veterinarians in your area? I’m trying to get sooper dooper an appt but our regular place is still on 100% covid lockdown. I gotta call when I arrive. Wait, they call me back tell me to leave her in the foyer and go back to my car and wait. It’s becoming a long tedious process as they look her over, call you as you sit outside, discuss it, then do treatment if you approve.

I called Monday to make an appointment but they are booked for weeks so sooper is on the “cancellation” list which is probably useless as that will probably happen when I’m at work or something . I’m not going to fault any business for being cautious but sooper is over 24 she got a list of ailments a mile long. I can call other vets it’s just she hates the car so much she comes home with bloody paws from trying to get out of the cat carrier. The longer the ride the worse her little paws are. Just curious if this is common. 98% of the businesses in my state are operating like almost normal. Masks were even dropped although they are making a comeback. I have no problem if a business requires masks for entry this isn’t about that, just wondering if for some reason vets are keeping the lockdown way of business for some reason I’m not aware of or is my vet operating on an “abundance of caution”

The vet situation is getting a little better, but pretty similar to you. Took Ruby in yesterday and for the first time humans were allowed in the entrance. We still were not allowed in the exam room. Before humans had to spend the whole time in the parking lot. It has been hard getting appointments as well.

Similar with our vet.
Dreading the 3 mile ride ….,
Two hyperventilating cats, one crying boy and a very concerned daughter does not make a stress less afternoon.

Ah, thanks for the replies guys I guess I won’t go crazy calling 20 vets. At least they are liberal filling prescriptions and getting me IV bags. You gotta figure the numerous inconvenience caused by this virus should be over sometime within the next year or by the end of humanities time on the planet do we do have that going for us.

It is the same for mine. Still have to wait outside in the car and appointments are booked well out there. It is getting better, slowly.

Not good in our bit of the UK unless you are happy to hand them over / still treatment in the car park. Hopefully things will improve and thankfully we have not needed anything. Has been tough with human relatives in hospital isolated as well - had never heard of hospital induced delirium before but seen two examples now. Friends had to handover a pet to be put down which really sucked / they were not allowed in. On the human front we have eye tests next week (first in a long time) and will need to work on the dentist next (no checkup in 18 months) There is a big backlog for hospital appointments as well (including phone appointments). GP is available but the first off is always by phone which causes a delay.

We ain’t ordering a taco or burger at a drive through.

we are luckier here. Since about a month ago we have been able to go into our local vet, one masked "parent" per visit. Before that it was drop off and do the appointment over cell phone. As well before they opened up they made exceptions for final appointments🙁 with a special room.

Here it's still handing off the pets outside, and waiting in your car. Have no issues with that, because I wouldn't want to go in anyway at this point.

That's what I call a "Nope Rope" or "Danger Noodle"...either way, that freaks me out a bit!
