We planted a tree (dogwood ironically) in remembrance of our 21 old cat. The kids still have awesome memories of Matilda.

Bril idea!!!

Ok I see @Alpha has these beautiful B-Day party’s for his doggy buddy. Superdooper 112th Birthday (human years) included an IV, a B-12 infection, steroids and liquid antibiotics. Gotta say that after that she is definitely acting younger, not a day over 99 and actually followed me up the the third floor of the house to check it out. She usually skips the stairs but if you have an elderly cat I really cant recommend IV for hydration and B-12 injections enough. There is even a port I the IV where you can introduce the B-12 but I’ve been giving her this stuff so long she doesn’t mind the needles when you find the right places which take a while.

A very welcome warm weekend in the UK....maybe too warm for the Furballs. I think he might be solar powered (long periods of shut-down on the lawn until fully re-charged).
When activated he and his potential lady friend are still maintaining (tolerating) a discrete distance with an occasional glower of love/hate.
We were out late last night …. he can do what he likes anytime and we were only two gardens away.. but this was his 'what time do you call this look' at the top of our stairs when we came in.
Finally the evil one (bear cat) is still trying to break and enter and cause havoc. I did relent and give him a drink to cool off (cold filter water with a dash of full cream milk remains his cat-tail drink of choice). Happy Sunday everyone.

The old boy has been on the B12 for some time now and a fantastic difference it has made, capsules are really simple, just a case of pulling one capsule apart and sprinkling the powder on his food.

Oh that’s cool made to sprinkle on food. Giving dogs pills isn’t that bad, giving cats a pill is like trying to get a camel through the eye of a needle especially if the pill says (do not crush). I use the injections for that reason and the injection increases bioavailability

The circle of life (on a Sunday morning):

The dog staring at me, the cat staring at the dog, me staring at the cat.

(We are fortunate for sure, healthy, and free to do nothing. Hope this finds you all well.)

Yes, hairy is fine thank you and says she is in perfect health and much better off than those “things you have that stare, thank you very much.”

This is odd, it’s 4:45a I been up for a while I slept a lot yesterday as I got a nail through my foot (long story) and was told to try to stay off it during the day. So I got up at like 3am this AM and 112 year old sooper dooper has been following me around looking to be patted and trying to steal my coffee, also laying down on my reading material. This is all after I fed her, usually it’s just eat and sleep. I think I’m going to ask the vet if I can increase her B-12 as she is even jumping on the couch. She missed her first jump but usually she tries three times then gives up, it’s like today she is super sooper dooper

Remember, always wear proper eye protection when operating machinery.

This little guy pulled up next to me at a stoplight…good for a smile or two.

Dudes I deeply apologize but I can’t carry this load. I had to listen to someone telling me how they tortured animals in the past. I have kept it I’m my head since Monday but it’s seriously screwing with my head. I need to remain vague and you want me to anyway but it involve cats and microwaves I will leave it at that.
Due to the settings of the discussion I had to remain without showing emotion which was very difficult. But everyday this week I have been giving extra treats and pats to sooper and hairy. It can be a brutal world out there. Not just for humans. I feel like I’m ruining one of the best threads here but I can’t carry this burden as it’s been eating at me. Let’s just say everybody be a little extra nice to your pets for 7 days, let’s counteract this bad karma with good. I’m gonna buy one of those super big bags of cat food and drop it off at the towns animal shelter Saturday. Here is hairy and sooper about to get extra treats and fresh water I just filled an hour ago.excuse sooper she is 112 and not photogenic

Well yesterday started slowly for our remaining old lady

then my oldest daughter(who volunteers at a rescue society) suggested that she might be lonely and would we mind fostering some kittens. Someone filled out some forms and I came home from work today to see

and this

so we will see how it goes. A bit of hissing through the door but everyone(?) says that a couple of days is all that is necessary to see if they will fit in with the incumbent. Mrs. P and the visiting daughter are happy though so that's a start, but they will remain on probation until sure that all will be well

My eldest son at age eleven (he’s now twenty-five) worked with an animal rescue group…and we fostered a kitten…and then her brother…and then their sister…and then two unrelated kittens. None of them found foster homes, other than our permanent foster home. My eldest son now lives in Manhattan, sans cats. Theoretically, my wife and I are empty-nesters , except for our sons’ cats, and two dogs. It’s all good…Isn’t it? Of course it is.

I don’t know who told you a couple days but it’s usually quite linger. So introduction over weeks seems to work well. I’m the official guy in the family “who ends up with the sick or unwanted cats” as I cant say no. With kittens I have seen days. Temperament can play a part it would be great if it’s just a couple days. Hairy the-cat had her own room for two months as she would’ fight the other two when I get her out.good luck
