A new little visitor to the morning bird feeding session - strange as I did not think they liked Seeds and old bread.... It certainly got the garden to itself - even the cats hung back :0)

Darn I had a lot of fun yesterday I visited someone who has this big beautiful black dog, probably 70-80 lbs all the dog wanted me to do was try to get his new squeaky toy which proved impossible. Couldn’t get a pic yet as it was my first visit to this home but we shall meet again.

now today I’m off and hairy seems quite happy that I can give her attention and treats but this following me around everywhere staring is getting old quick

So another ornithologist popped over for this morning’s bird fattening (I mean feeding)
She is a young huntress with a fine set of whiskers (which are set to kill mode in this picture I suspect). The blackbirds send up a non-stop alarm when she visits. They ignore the old boy - funny how they differentiate. He is still having a long rest inside / not out of the cat-flap yet… at 1pm.. then again it is the weekend.

Your Sparrowhawk is a female too, very exciting to watch flight manoeuvering -- unless you're a Sparrow of course.

Not the same level of Glamping as @Alpha ;-) we didn't take the sofa with us this time... But he seems to nonetheless find it comfy 😀

This was hairys reaction to me telling her all the fun I had playing with the big black dog Thursday and how he played fetch with a squeaky toy. I told her I want her to be more interactive and do tricks besides making food disappear and acting like a princess. I’m pretty sure she is telling me I gotta accept her as she is.

Good spot / I never thought to check that out. I have seen it just clear a fence at full speed and then pull an instant right turn (Tron style) between two houses (3 foot gap). Amazing creatures.

Your visitor looks like the Sharp-Shinned Hawks we have here in New Jersey. A few years back, I found one in our garden with a broken wing....he had likely crashed into a window of our conservatory. I tossed a t-shirt over him to calm him, then took him to a local wildlife rehabilitation center to be looked after. They are amazingly agile fliers, due in part to their long tails. A rare occasion (never put the bloody TV on) … but the Old boy was allowed to watch the England / Italy match. He just seems to like the ball kicking around.. but he could not stand to watch the penalties (or he got bord and wanted a quieter seat :0)

Ok this is going to sound strange. Sunday I was doing some yard work which involved digging up some invasive vines. Figuring which trees need to come down and other various things. Now hairy followed me around the entire time and even found a spot to start digging a hole next to were I was digging. I figured she was going to use the bathroom but she pranced away from the small hole she dug very happily. She stuck with me until I started the lawn mower at which point she vacated our work area out of fear for her life.
