I think the Old Boy is wondering when his Winter Coat will fully drop... although the next few days the UK weather will be up an down... but not so down that he still needs the furry tuffs on his paws to traverse the snowy grounds :0) I have got enough fur off the bed to stuff a pillow so he is doing his best to drop the coat......everywhere.

He wasn’t too crazy about water the first few months but loves it now, which made keeping him cool a bit easier during the recent heat wave in W Canada.

Cat in a coma on the outside day bed. Plus the sudden demise of a firefly. The out of focus photo is from my wife, taken while I was driving.

It was nice having my neighbors go all out and have the amazing fireworks display tonight that honestly is on par with what some municipalities put on although the “bangs” aren’t quite as loud as but the displays and colors are amazing. Unfortunately hairy doesn’t appreciate them. She disappeared around 8pm finally found her in a closet she found open. She will cautiously come out during the pauses of explosions then turn around and run back in when they start again. I reminded her it’s only once a year, didn’t seem to matter.

Our dogs are not phased at all with fireworks, thunderstorms, etc. I guess we are lucky in that way, but none of our dogs have ever had issues with this.

We've had sets of fireworks this year so far, so Victoria Day on May24, and Canada Day on July 1. There were two fireworks displays going on simultaneously on July 1, both done by people in the community and both like your example - done to the point of being professional certainly (we always donate to the guys that do these) and they lasted about 45 minutes each. We took the dogs out to watch - they were fine.

Walk amongst the mangroves

Rare to see these ducks around salt water and on the coast.

Animal behavior is very interesting and you can notice such extreme differences between pets. My Shepard was literally terrified of fireworks. I mean she would visible shake. It seemed like with hairy the cat she was more confused and I imagine with the acute hearing the “booms” can be bothersome but my neighbors dog was out enjoying the festivities without a bother.

Zelda is on the mend. The vet drained and cleaned out the ear flap and sutured it closed very thoroughly to ensure that it doesn't fill up again. They left some holes for drainage, which stopped after a few days. The sutures need to stay in place for a few weeks, but apparently this procedure is very effective. As you can see, she's an amazing patient, and tolerates absolutely anything. No Elizabethan collar needed, let's go for a walk, Dad! I don't know if she'll hold that ear up again, so now she'll be a flop-eared, snaggletoothed, gray-face. 😉
Glad it all went good, and flop-eared is hipster now! Surely with grey face!

Perhaps I should put some padding on the arms of this chair 😉
