I put out this box as I was going to put some plastics to recycle in it but within minutes hairy decided it was hers
Zelda is on the mend. The vet drained and cleaned out the ear flap and sutured it closed very thoroughly to ensure that it doesn't fill up again. They left some holes for drainage, which stopped after a few days. The sutures need to stay in place for a few weeks, but apparently this procedure is very effective. As you can see, she's an amazing patient, and tolerates absolutely anything. No Elizabethan collar needed, let's go for a walk, Dad! I don't know if she'll hold that ear up again, so now she'll be a flop-eared, snaggletoothed, gray-face.
The week in review. I am definitely Barking mad, stone cold crazy, loopy, Stark raving mad and a big softie. So arrive home Friday afternoon and it appears that the daughter has bought home a puppy from the boyfriends dogs litter. First response, "no way it is not staying" which was supported by Mrs Mad. The decision made and all done the new arrival will be shipped off to the grandmother down in the delta but as we are in lockdown due to COVID that is not possible for a few more weeks yet. Yes, we know how the rest of the story goes and now the newest member of the Mad clan.. Meet Lucy Well at least it is smaller than the last one and I should be able to control it.. Beau thinks he has got a new toy not a little sister.. Got a big appetite for a little girl and it appears that Beaus food tastes best.. Chilling where the dogs can't go Had to borrow a set of scales as ours only go to 20kg's Dogs, pffft, so lazy.. Seriously thinking about buying the budgies a television. Going through a population explosion at the moment. The blue one is a baby that hasn't left the nest yet. This is the size of the cage when we had six.. and then it grew to ten.. and now we have hit twenty New extension installed today. These guys are breeding as well but have enough space.. Done Done and Done, but you never know when food might present itself
Good to know that many others are looking after dogs, cats etc. and one charity I am happy to support is War Paws - https://www.facebook.com/Warpaws/ Such sadness and every little helps. I am only posting this link in the event that others may consider helping out
That's called a "failed foster". We've had a couple of those. You're supposed to give them up after you foster them a bit. Good luck with that. Looks right at home too.
In addition to your hard working supervisor, I see that you have a very nice lunar lander legit model.
Went for a walk in the woods with Maeve yesterday - too hot out for Remi, so he was at home. Maeve spotted a chipmunk... Once she saw that one, the quest was never ending. "I'm sure there's one over there!"
We agreed to foster Dusty Doggy Dinkleman for a relative for 3 months....that was 12 years ago... Yikes! notice his portrait under the clock. My kids sense of humor
