Glad to see everyone’s pets healthy. I’m having problems with one of mine but I’m not going into details, too much of a bummer. On the plus side sooper dooper, the 23 year old cat, is gaining weight and continues to marvel my vet

 

I was eating lunch and heard heavy breathing coming from under the table. She had fallen asleep while watching the birds and squirrels in the back yard.

And of course “head on a hairball” hairy is still ok here she is begging treats. She is using mental power to make me get the bag of cat treats, it’s very effective

Our pup had his first vet visit the other day and the vet is predicting an epidemic of separation anxiety issues as owners are spending way too much time with their pets due to COVID-19 lockdowns and work from home arrangements. We were advised to slowly increase the time the pup is alone, starting at about 30 seconds and not to make a big fuss when leaving or coming home.

 

Yea, its one of the side effects of the rather strange new world current situation we all find ourselves in. I have wondered how they will adapt in the long run, whether certain breeds will suddenly be more preferable

Another more worrying issue, both here and where my folks live on the other side of the country is, a sudden surge of poisoned / drugged / trapped food being left out for dogs.

2 vets we know personally locally have dealt with a surge of severely injured and poisoned doggos, and in mums area ( rural) they are taking it in turn to sweep areas due to trapped / bait food being left on walking paths.
@r5eholes are always going to @r5ehole when they have to share space.
Just be a little bit on your toes if you're in a lockdown area as some folks don't like sharing with our more hairy companions.
