I see they are still following 'old Hollywood' rules at this early stage …. Lovers weren't allowed to be horizontal. One partner had to keep one foot on the floor at all times.

 

Yes, James is about 3 they said when we got him 5 weeks ago from the shelter and Tilly we have had for 5 years from a puppy from the same shelter.

This is his regular - Are you coming / follow me now…. how many times do I have show the way to the Kitchen area and the fridge 'look'
If the bowl is empty for too long he gets a 'resource' panic on and will find me in my office - leading me to the kitchen with a lot of grumbles on route.

Well bad night last, buddy Baxter is no more. Did all I could, IV, prednisone, brought food to him to all hours. Just didn’t work. Good cat was he, a couple old pics, rest well Baxter, you were a good cat. He was healthy in these pics, he just liked to lay down when he ate to conserve energy.

 

I am sorry to hear this, Walrus. I didn't realize where your pics were headed and as I scrolled down the pics I was smiling at such a good looking cat and his antics.....and then the smile was wiped off my face. I hope time, the fact you gave him a good life, and the memories make it a bit easier on you. I have started to think about the fact that my real McKinley is getting up there in age lately. I hope to get at least another 10 years from him. He has done the imaginable and topped the charts on our list of cats......something I thought no new cat could do, as we have had some great cats. Hang in and Baxter looked like a great cat with all kinds of personality.

Really sad for you, Walrus. I didn't realise where those beautiful photos were heading, and it must have taken some strength for you to post them right now. Looks like Baxter was one of the great cats - and he had one of the great human friends. I hope healing comes to you as soon as may be.

Oh no, so sad to loose our fury friend... they are part of the family, and they always leave behind an empty space. Sorry to read this, and with time, you will cherish even more the happy memories spent together. But for now, my condolences and positive energy from Neo and me.

Hey thanks for the kind words. It was a bad night but things are ok. Like most here I’ve lost both pets and humans along the way so I keep things in perspective. Just wanted to do a little tribute to my old buddy. I do regret trying the useless medical interventions as I fear I inadvertently extended his misery but as someone else already told me it’s always a tough decision to mark. Damn now I have a 23 year old cat and another one that is at least 10. I rescued both of them from bad situations. Never thought of 10 as old for a cat but it can be. Well anyway thanks again, thanks for letting me do my little tribute to Baxter

 

Wow, this place has everything... even a pet section..

Anyway this is Ivan, aka The last man standing... He is my last cat from 6 that due to certain reasons, primarily a very messy divorce, he is the only one I still have with me or who hasn't died. He means a lot to me and we look after him the best I can. Great thing is my new partner adores him so he lives a very comfy life.
