Fur and whiskers are in fine form (winter coat post brushing). Some real 'cats eyes' with the flash....Not sure what he gets up to on Saturday night but the old boy always perks up a bit and looks his best.

Early am today...Clearly he had a hell of a night again.... these days with Covid limitations I think I live vicariously through him a bit ! (he has been a real tonic this year and loves having us around more) … still a selfish little bugger of course but does have has his odd generous moments.

I am not 100% sure of the breed being a cat man currently .... but I suspect he is going to need a lot of dog-food once that little guy is a big guy and lots of long walks up the mountains :0) - cute and friendly little fella for sure.

He’s part Bernese mountain dog, golden retriever, German shepherd, Great Pyrenees and Australia shepherd. Based on how big he is at 6 weeks and the size is his paws, there’s a good chance he’s going to be relatively large, even though his mum is only about 50lbs.

I was hiking in Umbria - Piano Grande a few years back. Some Maremano mountain dogs came to check us out. Super friendly and clever confident / easy going dogs. These live wild a lot of the time with the flocks. I think if we had upset the sheep or the shepherd we might have seen a different side. I really got to like Mountain dogs from that trip.

Squad minus 1 today. Macy, Cookie, and Lucy. Started with Molly. She acts like there is no pain in her leg. But I can hear her knee cap clicking so I took her back home after a block.
orthopedic surgery on a dog isn’t in my plans. Figure a minimum of $10k. Have a conundrum here

Néo went to his quarterly Osteopath rdv this week... He feels much better afterwards

@LesXL my Shepard had hip dysplasia, I put her on meds, she responded well for quite sometime but when she hit 14 or so it seemed to become unmanageable. Are you getting neo these treatments to prevent that? By the pics you put up he looks quite active.

Hairy the cat has an issue where her back legs will pop out of joint as she runs. She will take these funny looking steps to put the joints back in place. I had the vet check her out but it’s a birth defect there is nothing I can do. Fortunately it didn’t seem to cause her pain and the vet said she knows how to put everything back in place she doesn’t foresee it causing an issue for “a while”

I do feel for you so much. I have lost a lot of close people but the thing which took me down was a pet. The fact is I did 100% for the people (including a parent)which made it easier to cope - but I did not exhaust everything for the pet. But you have to look at the cost / life left balance. Also animals hate being messed with (especially cats) + anyone you pay money to wants to rip you off and will lie / stretch things out to get more money (I have seen that for people so they wont hesitate for cats and dogs etc). I ended up having a cat euthanized and I then split £700 between an animal sanctuary and a bereavement charity. It was not £10K and it meant I could eat again after about 3 days :0)…. depending on your bank balance you cant spend £10K for a pet with a 15-20 lifespan... although the current cat record is 32 as I often remind my wife :0)

If Molly was in pain I would go the surgery route. But she skips along like it is no big deal.

any time a leopard frog sits still long enough for a photograph it qualifies as a pet.

especially if you can hold it up to the camera.

Neo is developing arthritis, mainly in his lower back, and it is creating muscle tensions. He needs to stay active to maintain his muscle mass to slow down the spread, and every quarter or so, he goes to the osteopath to release some of the muscle tensions, realign his vertebraes etc... He actually knows now that he feels better after, and he enjoys it. She is very gentle with him, he even falls asleep sometimes haha

He now also takes some mobility supp daily to help him. Thankfully, he doesn't have dysplasia.

My cat contemplating 2020 with a martini...

She is pondering why you made it so dirty.
Fyi I love a good dirty martini 😀

I think she is contemplating whether olives might taste as nice as fish.
