Sorry, sounds like she's on the mend 馃榾 and likely will back on the trail again soon!

Thank you, I hope so. Just trying to keep the staples dry and covered. So far she hasn't been bothering them at all.

I don't know if you've had any occasion to take Bentley to the vet yet, but we have had three Boxers, and they have all been amazing patients. Totally fearless and stoic, love going to the vet, wag tails and give kisses while they are being examined or treated. Both Zelda and my previous Boxer, Piper, had run-ins with porcupines in the backcountry, and I had to remove dozens of quills using the pliers on my multitool because it would have taken 2-3 days to get out of the wilderness, and it's really not safe to allow the needles to stay in place for so long - they can gradually work their way deeper in. It was incredible how they tolerated it; my vet has told me that many dogs need to be sedated to remove porcupine quills, especially from the mouth and face.

Sorry to post another photo of Zelda under not-so-great conditions, but I guess these are the consequences of living an adventurous life, which I think she enjoys overall. I promise that I am not reckless with her.

A little Christmas selection box, including Primrose鈥檚 cousin Luna.

Me taking advantage of a docile greyhound by balancing an owl on her head:

Took Georgie out to the coast (Near Bodega Bay, Northern California). It鈥檚 funny that we only live 30 minutes away but rarely head out there.

Zelda getting a little extra comforting from her mom. She's usually not even allowed on that couch.

I hope Zelda gets back to her old self soon! Boxers are too much fun to not be feeling good. I know when Georgie has been not feeling good or our last boxer Stella had cancer it simply gutted me. Best wishes for a full recovery.

Keep an eye open for the birds, they're looking for you!

Watch out for the birds.
