This was a pretty good pic from the past
That reminds me of this pic of my dog Jake, his mum and brothers and sisters at 1 year old. Mums on the right with Jake next to her. June 1988

I'm just trying to imagine seven Beagles in that situation 😁

My best walking buddy turned eight yesterday. Unfortunately this will most likely be his last. His poor heart is about to give out. The vet gave him about three months a month ago. Will just love him and make sure he is comfortable till the end.

I'm very sorry to hear this. We lost one of ours a year ago and it was very hard, especially for the kids who had grown up with him, but they still speak of and remember him often, particularly via well-worn comic stories, and now he has passed into legend, as all great pets do. Enjoy the time you have and happy walking.

Here's our kitten, already past 10lbs with four 1/4 years of growing to go...

A quick lunch time stroll soon descended into a shin tickling episode.
How does your dog keep his back feet on the ground when carrying a branch that large? I would think he would be snout to the ground and backside skyward!

Usually beligerence , perseverance and a bloody mindedness.
Also, to be fair, that is pretty small for him.

I've come back to this thread many times, to post my dearest pooches (both now recently departed) but I always lose my vision through the mist and cant do it, but now I will........

Both lived to 14...amazing given their medical issues over the years. Both of the individual photos were taken 3 weeks before they went over the rainbow bridge, Brandy (the large shepard), Bruin(the small Shiba/Shepard mix) 3 yrs later.

Its amazing that they seem to know this will happen, as in each instance they simply sat down and stayed still, looking at us. In each instance I said "hey I'll get the camera" and each stayed still until I did that and took a photo. Amazing.

Both photos are of them at 14 yrs old.

Last one is a very rare moment when they are both still in one place. God we miss them.....they were partners in crime in everything they did. They loved each other dearly.

We thought about color correcting Bruin's eyes, but the fact that we nicknamed her "The little devil"....as she was the instigator of the adventures they would get into, we left it alone.

We took our princess (she's 10 years old) to the vet tonight, it's not looking good and it's doubtful that she will make it through the night.
I have everything crossed that she pulls through but I thought she was going to die in my arms earlier today, but she's a fighter.

Here she is in better health.
