Starting to get a bit concerned about my old pal, behaving like a young dog, barking a thing he never did, jumping up at the table again something he never did and running like a youngster etc. etc.

Several other worries but perhaps the worst is he often forgets he has just been fed and comes looking for his meal half an hour later, have heard of dementia in dogs but at this point in time I am just happy to see him enjoying himself.
Hey, sometimes that’s hyperthyroid animals burning through food not getting nutrients. They do have meds for it and B-12 helps them with the nutrients. Sorry not playing vet here but I had the same issue with an older Shepard.

My thanks, according to our vet it is simply old age but I think it is time to look for another opinion.

Handsome lad heading for the hills eleven years ago,

Ah great to hear pretty dog. I have an 18.5 year old cat. She has cancer and for a while she wouldn’t eat or move. I really thought I was going to have to put her down. I brought her to the vet and after hydration, steroids and B-12 she was back to her old self. I’ll put a picture up sometime but it’s hard to catch her when she is awake and she hates when I disturb her 20 hour naps

Today was Tommy’s birthday. September 29, 1996 - June 30, 2012. We miss him every day, but not so much the ‘can’t hear himself meow’ breakfast call at 05:30...!

Thought I’d put this up. About two years ago a gentleman in my town went out to start his pick up on a cold day. He hears a terrible noise, opened the hood and found a cat under the hood that had been mangled by the cars fan. When I first saw this cat a year and a half ago I never thought it would look this good, and as you can see she looks pretty rough. The vet took this cat in and cares for it and did all these surgeries on her own. I was at the vet today and this is what the little fella looks like now
Yes, this is both heartbreaking and disturbing. It’s also a valuable reminder to those in cooler climes to rap on the hood of their car before starting it up in the morning. There’s a special place in critter heaven for vets like the one who saved this poor kitty.

Neko, the kitty we got our son in June after his Cinder died of Lymphoma in April. Pic from today after we drove to see Ben at college to celebrate his mom’s birthday.

Obviously some house rules are made to be broken 😁

At least he took his blanket and toy with him,

Thanks for the dog pic. With 4 cats in a row I was getting worried. Not that there is anything wrong with cats, some of my best friends have cats. I know 13 dogs that would love to have a cat.

Well perhaps he just thought he'd join his friend on the cushion ?

Come on Larry, get with the program. "Old Pal" and "Wee Man" refer to the senior and junior pack members, respectively. 😁
