Enjoyed some quality time this morning with my old pal, he really seemed to enjoy just the two of us which I have noticed often, makes me wonder if he really enjoys having a wee sidekick ?

Later out with the wee boy who still has a lot to learn, first off you do not sit on tables,

Secondly this is not how we play frisbee 馃榾

She is Inca, a Cocker spaniel, born on 17 March, from a litter of 15, and destined to be a working dog. No doubt, some of my hair will be falling out during the training. 馃榿

Out with Zelda for a backyard hike today. The highlight was a rare bobcat sighting, but no photo.

She will be working on local Shoots, beating and picking-up.

Out just after six o'clock this morning, walking the old lady, sporting her newly clipped Spring coat.

She is showing her age now, but still has plenty of drive and energy.

What a difference to when we first saw her at six weeks old.

Last week our kitty "Cinder" succumbed to his Lymphoma, with a huge non-resectable gastric tumor, that ended with him being unable to eat or drink. He was doing great with treatment for a few months, and then things quickly went bad.

We had a veterinarian come to the house to help him cross the rainbow bridge in my arms. We are all heartbroken, but my son is especially devastated by the loss, so we welcome any prayers for him.

@larryganz sending thoughts and prayers. My brother in law just put down their 19 year old cat. They surprised their kids with a kitten a week later.. A nice way to refocus grief and energy into a new bundle of fluff. 馃榾

We all know the day will come but it certainly does not make it any easier, my thoughts are with you and especially your son.

Cinder was a beautiful cat, Larry. He reminds me of a gray cat, Rebel, that I had while I was in college. He and I went through some lean times together and sometimes he ate what I smuggled out of the dining commons at night. We had two cats when my daughter was born, nearly 14 years ago, next month. They are both gone now and it was especially hard on her. I feel for your son, maybe it was his first loss also? Hang in there. You know they are part of the family, but never realize how much until they are gone. I hope your son heals quickly.

@McKinley Unfortunately this was my son Ben's 5th loss - his black cat Boo went out to play about 9 years ago and got chased away by coyotes that were new to the neighborhood and was never seen again - we'd had him for 5 years. Benjamin slept by the back door and on the couch for many months waiting for Boo to come home.

Then in 2011 Ben's grandfather passed away (loss #2) and we inherited his old cat Greystone (14+ years old at the time) who already had some renal failure that brought him to his end 2 years later (loss #3). Ben picked out Cinder to replace Greystone in Dec 2013 and he was the best cat ever, until Cinder was diagnosed with Lymphoma 5 years later (loss #5). But our Shetland Sheepdog that we got when our son was 2 years old died after Ben was 18 yr old, and on the very day that Ben was leaving for college (loss #4).

It's been very tough for him - he has anxiety and his cat was like an emotional support animal for him. And he already wants a new cat while my wife is not sure she wants to have another pet that will die on us (although we adopted a mini aussie puppy that really needed a new home last summer, who is a handful).

This is Addie - she turns 2 years old on August 30th.
