These have never been on my radar until last month when I bought a 14k example, the watch/gold dealer said it was a pocket watch conversion, but the assay mark on one of the lugs made me think it was something rather special. He did some research afterwards and voided/refunded the deal after telling me what it was and how much it was really worth, close call and I doubt I will get another chance at one of these.

Soo, maybe I misunderstood. You bought one in 14k for apparently a good price (for you) and then the dealer/seller later or after the sale voided the sale? I don't understand why would you agree to that? How is that even possible 😕

I am in the UK, the watch was in Canada, after I paid he did some homework. I didn't agree to it.
