If it's a never worn quartz that has never left the box I am surprised the battery didn't corrode inside the watch.

Dear all,

Thankyou so much to the guys that helped me, that offered up information and guidance. It has helped me. I have obtained a valuation and ive decided, after talking to my grandad to sell and buy a little run about car to help me try and get a cake decorating business off the ground.
I know to you that is probably awful, but imagine if you were given Jimmy Choo shoes or something, you would be in my boat 馃榾

To those who thought to ridicule and be sarcastic towards me, well maybe you should have a think about why you are on a forum, was it not set up to help and guide people with less knowledge than yourselves.
Its not very nice and maybe you need to examine your motives for this behaviour.
I will let you into a secret....
When you post your sarcastic comments on here, people reading don't think "ooh he is so clever and cool" as much as you would love to believe that. They really think "This guy has issues, was probably bullied at school and has small genitalia" Try being nice, or saying nothing and maybe concentrate on improving yourself as a person, as no one likes people like that.
Sarcasim is the lowest form of wit.

Glad you've worked out what you want to do.

Just in response to your comments:

This is a forum filled with people who are interested in omega watches.

Every day, someone who is not interested in omega watches, but has in one way or another acquired one, appears here, asking for a valuation.

They add nothing to the community, but expect to freely take.

Imagine how tiring that becomes, and how over time, your responses go from helpful, to suspicious, to intolerant.

I know you meant no harm, but you're not the first, and won't be the last.

If your thoughts on not getting unconditional help from strangers on the internet turn to the size of their genitalia, then I would suggest madam that you "concentrate on improving yourself as a person"...

Because no one likes a scrounger or a blaggard.

Good luck with the cakes.

Imagine if some one came to you, every day Penelope, the milkman, or the plumber, or some guy in the street, and showed you a pair of Jimmy Choos. You think what has he got them for, maybe he will let you buy them.

They are beautiful - in the box! You happen to be in the middle of a coffee morning with a dozen friends, who all tell this gentleman all about the shoes. He says thanks, and the next thing you know his sister is selling them.

No problem. It was fun.

Then the next time you have friends over, some guy bangs on the door with an Hermes Birkin. Oh god, you all want that. You patiently explain all about how its made of one piece of leather and the man who made it trained for eight years before he could make one....And the next thing its on ebay with your description.

Again thats ok, it was fun.

Three hundred coffee mornings with shoes / bags etc later, some guy shows up with Something. And you think, I am just going to carry on drinking coffee and talking about The Affair at number 42.

Anyone who comes here for the first time, could take the time and read a few dozen threads and get the feel of things, and then they would know bursting in demanding the value of a quartz watch is tolerated, especially when asked charmingly. When that value is questioned, I have to think, why did you bother? (Most of the time, the values put to sub10 posters are rejected as too low - how do they know?).

And it has to be said, I enjoy the wide variety of watches threads like this throw up. I do try to be polite always, no point in being rude, no one has a gun to my head to reply. I do all this because it is fun.

Actually I try to be nice only by selfish reasons. I feel bad later,

So welcome Penelope / Paul. May you sell your watch successfully and decorate many cakes.

Hey Penelope I entered your cookie store to ask you if this muffin I just bought was for the right price. No I don't want any of yours, I just want you to tell me if mine is good. You know what ? I'll eat it anyway, because muffins are awesome. Bye!

(No genitalia were harmed in the making of that imaginary muffin)
