Followed this nice Carrera Heuer 3647N on an auction this past Saturday.
Not top condition, but with a lovely dial.
And after some exiting battles, the hammer fell at 6200 € / 6550 $ including the premium.

Very nice but seems expensive? Or am I out of date with Carrera prices?

One of the more pricy ones lately, they peaked a few years ago, but who knows - they might be moving up??

High, but not extreme. These prices are in GBP, so 6350 in EUR for a private sale and 7800 for a dealer sale, when in mint condition. Have seen multiple dealers posting for up to 9k and recently even a 10k 3647 NT. Source: https://www.heuerpriceguide.com/carrera-1960s-price-guide

I think that guide pricing is too high generally. Seen lots of pricing even by dealers below the private sale level - especially Autavias

This landed at the T household today. I really wasn’t looking for any major purchases right now, in fact I’m meant to be selling a few but o couldn’t let this one pass.
The pictures seemed to show exactly what I look for, an unloved watch that’s been sitting in a drawer for years, dirty and with a terribly crystal, but highly original with great bones (eg dial and case - the movement wasn’t pictured but I took a gamble).

Here we are.

Early 2447s, 63xxx serial with correct unsigned crown, mint dial, beautiful lume and a movement that looks like it’s barely been touched. All the marks are on the crystal which I haven’t polished yet. I love it.

Now that is a nice Heuer David!
The dial and lume looks amazing, and the movement is sooo clean - Congrats!

But you have done cleaning on the case already?

I have followed a few sales on these (and other Carreras), and they often have dirty/grubby dials and other issues - so you must be very pleased!

And in love!
👍👍👍

Yes I gave the case a superficial clean before the photo, i just haven't yet polished the crystal which i believe is the original one.

You're right re the dial. These silver Carrera dial often display staining or other degradation and the fact this one appeared to be spotless is what convinced me to crack on and buy it. The movement condition was an added bonus when i finally got the stiff caseback off!
