Good evening,

since I have started being interested in watches I have been on the quest of finding a watch model that my wife would like to have herself. I previously purchased a Seamaster De Ville 166.020 for her, which she enjoys, but after she read @dsio article on the Ladies’ Seamaster Sparkle 566.013 (link: https://stories.omegaforums.net/the-ladies-seamaster-566-033-automatic-cal-681-684/), she has completely fallen in love with it. Whenever I show her other watches, she only mentions wanting “the tiny sparkle,” specifically in gold with the matching bracelet.

I’ve been searching for this model for a while now and have found it quite challenging even though I placed notifications on ebay and so on. She’s not in a rush and is quite patient, but since she will likely finish her PhD next year, it would make for an ideal gift.

Therefore, if anyone has one for sale or knows where I might find one, I would greatly appreciate your help!

P.S.: I must admit, I’ve also started to really like the matching golden Gents’ references (166.023, 166.032, 168.023, 168.022).

Thanks a lot and have a nice evening!

They’ll take a while to find but once you do, they’re not well known and there aren’t that many buyers, glad she enjoyed it, I do like writing about some of these ladies references particularly as they don’t get covered anywhere else really

The watch arrived today and I have mixed feelings:
  • it is running - that is good
  • the movement looks quite nice
  • brushing on the bezel good
  • facets okay

But:
  • plexi quite beaten up
  • setting the time feels quite „slippery“
  • some marks on the dial itself

Right now I am unsure how to proceed:
  • invest in a service & new plexi
  • buy a strap and buckle and hope to find the matching bracelet in the future

Or

Move on and look for a better example?
Her PhD Defense will be likely end of the year.

Of course we all need some pictures:

I had the luck to find a mens sparkle and the head is in NOS condition. Therefore I will continue to search a very good condition of the ladies watch 😊

Good selection of watches but prices are 2x + market value.

Totally agree, but the OP said that he needed a gift for his partner's impending PhD and I assumed that the potentially long and possibly unfruitfull search for a matching 'his and hers' set of watches might be expedited if he was willing to pay for that convenience.

He's 10 months in now and has already achieved half his goal, let's hope he finds the other half before her graduation. 🤞🏻
