No question - its an excellent forum. Well run, easy to use, no ads and best of all focussed on Omegas!
Thanks for making the effort and taking the expense to make it all happen.

I've mentioned this project a couple of times, and here it is ready to be worn. The watch was a nice cal 861 145.022 st 69, orig. dial safely stored. There is no fear it can ever be confused for the LE watch because it has the 69 case back. I fear my other watches are going to get a lot less wear time now that I have this sexy beast.

This actually looks great! When you said you where planing on making a franken of a perfectly decent pre-moon Speedy it sounded like a bad idea. But it looks fantastic, has the whole 1969 vibe going on and can always be returned to original in under an hour if you ever wanted to - and you may never want to! Nice one.

Ash, I'm glad you approve of my conversion. I felt the same way about it...easy to return it to it's former self, but honestly, that 1969 model is dime (several dimes) a dozen. I could find several on Ebay today, I'm sure. I ended up with less than 1200 in the finished watch, so it was also economical. Hey, I think my "invicta enthusiast" should be changed to "Horological Diplomat."

First you have to be promoted to "Invicta Novice" 😁
