·Hello, I am new to this forum, I wonder if anybody can help me see what the damaged dial on my Omega Medicus looked like when it was new.? From looking at this forum I think it is Model No. CK2015, is 35mm in diameter with a 23.4 sc movement. It seems to have a special dial, unlike others that I have seen online. It is unfortunately damaged by hard black corrosion products. The dial is made of silver with a Matt centre circle. I has a beautiful silver minutes ring also subdivided into fifths. The ring seems to stand proud of the surface could be stamped on or etched, but almost looks applied (see the the little notch between the numbers of the 45.) The dial has two areas of polished silver outside the minute ring and inside where I think the figures would have been printed. Intriguingly both these areas have evidence of gold plating. On the back of the dial are a curly L & C (Maybe Lemrich?) and the number 6 29 5.
The case and back are stainless steel, the original stepped stainless bezel was broken into three pieces and seemed to have failed in a brittle way like cast iron. I have turned a new bezel from stainless. Interestingly the watch came with a mineral glass, I wondered if this was original? The movement number is 8852947 and caseback 9738709.
I would love to know what the dial would have originally looked like, I can't imagine it was matt silver all over . I would be eternally grateful if somebody could find the time to reply.
