    Hi Members,

They are offering this speedy to me and unfortunately I am new at vintage. What can you tell with the pictures below? Looks honest watch? The hands seem to have lost tritium. How does the case and in general the piece look? Price is relatively low.

Regards and many thanks in advance for your ñrecious hel!!

Looks like a genuine well used piece. May be wrong but looks like mid 70’s. Couple of nasty dings on the bezel. Nice patina. What are “they” asking for it?

If you are "new at vintage" and not sure what you have there, maybe you should try to get "deeper into vintage", before you decide for a watch.

The watch looks ok, but I would ask the seller to show me some pictures of the inside, especially the movement. I'd barely buy a watch without having seen what's inside.

You should also consider to add the costs for a service. The watch doesn't look very well cared from the outside.

If you like it and the price is low, go ahead and buy it.

My only question is how you know the price is low if you are "new at vintage" and you don't know how to judge condition. So often, newbies say "the price is low" because they are comparing with Chrono24 asking prices.

I’m guessing it’s a -74, from what I can see of the dial.

It’s got a period correct bracelet and all the other bits look correct. If you’re looking for a daily vintage Speedmaster you don’t have to worry about putting more wear on, then, at a reasonable price, it’s got to be tempting.

    I agree with @Dan S and @OMEGuy ’s comments as well.

I am asking about movement pictures and service history. i know it is not easy for a newbie, but they are asking 3.8k eur, which seems low to me

Upload here pictures of the movement. What do you advise? I let it go or enough info/pics to go for it at 3.8k eur?

That’s around $4.2k. Have you already seen this:

With the bracelet, that’s not a bad price. But, it doesn’t seem like a deal either.

Given the compression of values on -74s, I might wait and spend more for a nicer one. They’re not that hard to find.

I think @airansun has given you some pretty comprehensive and sound advice.

Many thanks everyone for the advice. 3800 is the asking price. I will ask for servixe history and try to bring price down, but quite sure to let it go. Thanks again!!!!

OP, I think the main thing to ask yourself is how much you like the watch. The price isn't bad and you might be able to negotiate it a bit lower. Personally, I don't find the mismatched lume between the hands and dial very appealing, but that is just my subjective opinion. If it is appealing to you, you should probably buy it.
