Help with info on brass Omega clock table/desk clock

I recently picked up this little brass Omega clock but can't find any info on it. I was hoping someone could point me to a source or have some info about it. Any info at all will be more than I can find. It's a little more than a four inch square and two inches deep but pretty heavy for it's size and probably weighs about 4lbs. It has a key to wind it up and it is keeping time but it's missing whatever I would need to change the time.

I'd estimate it to be early 1950's judging by the colour, fancy hands and cabinet style. I've had a look through an Omega book but I can't find one exactly the same so I'm sorry but can't really add anymore.

Thank you very much for the info on estimated date. It's pretty hard to find any info on their clocks.

Very nice little clock.
I don't think the knob for winding is correct, it should be more of an "S" shaped rather than a round knurled knob.
The hand setting knob would look like the one you have, but smaller and made to fit the change arbor in the centre.

A good clockmaker should have a stack of spare parts that could be made to bring your clock back to life.

Hello Bdard (and greetings Patrik, thanks).

The clock carries an 8-day calibre 42.9 (there are some in AJTT but not this version). The movement is 42.9 8-D CLEF-390.

The reason for ‘CLEF’ is that this was a key-wound version: there was also a stem-wound/Remontoir version of the 42.9. There was also a version with alarm.

Omega made all sorts of case and dial versions (including the ‘Mare Oceano’ dial) and some unusual hands (as we see here).

It would date early-1950s (I can’t do better than that). It would almost definitely have been for the US market.

The number (which is on the paper label and partially rubbed off) is the movement number and would read 11061558.

As @JimInOz says, the knob you have may fit but is not original. Re Jim’s comment about the S-shaped key – this was used on the (earlier) 59-8D. The correct key here folds over and is attached by a centre screw (as in my image).

As you can see from the image I show of the movement, both controls have square sections – but the (central) time-setting control is probably too deep for the button you have – you’ll need a similar square shape but longer.

Follow-up – to at least @Skrotis, @DaveK, @JimInOz and @cristos71:

I hadn’t realised that the clock was about to appear on eBay. So I assume the query on this Forum was actually just to float the clock for sale.

In view of the above, perhaps I should have added that since the clock is missing the (very hard-to-find) controls, the value (in my opinion) for an ‘as found’ item would not exceed US$ 500.

I wanted to apologize to all of you that have helped with info on this clock. My intention wasn't to just get info on it to sell on eBay. I did not plan on selling it at all and had no idea that the Omega brand was as expensive and high quality as it is. I only decided to sell it after I found out my knob was wrong and I went to eBay to see if I could find one, then I saw the prices of other Omega clocks. My father in law just passed away and I was about to start selling part of my vintage toy/video game collection so my wife could plan her trip to South Texas for an extended visit. The clock was something I just happened to buy recently and was a better option to sell than our collection that we have been building for over 20 years.
